comparison is the thief of joy
growing up with parents that would compare me to others was a norm for me, and some would expect me to be unfazed and used to it. i'm not.
comparison is the thief of joy. no matter how far you've come, it'll always make u feel like ur not enough. "she started a business at 22" or "he's already married with 2 kids at 29". statements like these slowly chip away ur motivation and self worth.
if ur stuck in this loop too, remember this: u are not a failure. stars don't compete with each other, they just exist, each with their own brilliance. trust urself, u are not behind. u are just following ur own path ♥️

Your words are so touching and full of wisdom. The phrase "comparison is the thief of joy" is such a powerful truth that so many of us experience. You're right, I haven't been able to forget the things I heard in my childhood, and sometimes I feel like they still haunt me. It's so hard to shake off the impact of those words, but your reminder that we're not alone in this feeling is a light at the end of the tunnel. We're all walking a different path at our own pace, and the beauty of life is in that uniqueness. Thank you for this message, which holds so much support and hope🌷🙏🥺❤️

Stars don't compete, they just exist together 💕💜
I love that.
Yes, we all have something to offer, comparisons just steal our joy and our time 🥰

I think sadly some parents even others think comparison is motivation... it is not it makes a person want to shut down.
