Appreciation Corner Update - GLDD
Hi everyone! I hope you are doing well. As you know we are consistently evaluating our programs to keep them up to date to meet the needs of our students. We have heard feedback about the appreciation corner not being a very popular part of GLDD and we want to make sure that the program’s coursework is beneficial to our trainees.
As a result of your feedback, we have decided to remove the appreciation corner requirement from program requirements to graduate and we have replaced it with a more fitting task.
All trainees now are asked to respond to two comments/responses to the GLDD forum discussions. This means on each discussion thread that you participate in, you need to respond to two other people (who have yet to get a response). The response is an opportunity to connect with your fellow trainees and build each other up. It needs to be positive in nature.
This new requirement applies to trainees who start from September 6, 2021, and onwards. For the existing trainees, you have two choices.
Maintain your appreciation corner as required initially by appreciating 5 listeners each week
OR
Respond to two people on each discussion thread as said above (resulting in 12 total forum responses)
The update should make your workload less and provide opportunities to connect with each other. We hope that this makes things easier for you!

I personally really liked the idea of appreciations ~ but guess , change is the only constant 😊
A suggestion , in place of appreciations ~ a follow up forum thread requirement could be introduced, where in leaders can share their hosting/ room supporting / moderating experience on a weekly basis, Maybe even tag the participants of the event they hosted, have a follow up forum discussion on the topic of chatroom discussion/ session if any , brainstorm on improvements in their hosting/ group leadership skills , ask for feedback / suggestions etc . Also then the students can comment on each others ' threads ~ kind of like a collective brainstorming , discussing experiences , sharing tips and an overall encouraging , supportive space for all !
