A fantastic week!!!
I thought I'd make this to celebrate a fantastic week on 7 Cups that everyone has participated in!!! Last week we were all very involved in Appreciation Week, and that was awesome - this week, it looks like everyone's been really involved with members, which, as the core of the site - is fantastic to see!!!!
If you check out your dashboard, or click the link herethen you'll see how many chats have been taken so far - last week we didn't quite hit the 100,000 chat target, but without the dayeven being finished, we're a good 1,500 chats past the target!!!
The general request response rate just shows that despite everyone taking so many chats, we aren't getting them all - whilst ideally that's not ok - don't worry about it!!! The site is invariably expanding with the publicity it has been getting, and I'm hardly surprised especially since the other night there were over 20 general requests just for Teens alone, so I can't imagine what it's been like for the Adults!!!

I don't want to bring the vibe down, but I know that there is a listener that saved a life last week, and they are not tagged.
There is another that cried with someone going through a rough time. They were not tagged.
There is one that relived their trauma while doing a chat with a member. They are not tagged.
To tag a laundry list of listeners is to exclude others. I am sorry if that's a downer, but that's the way I see it. Let's maybe edit the tags out and truly make this thread exclusive. If a new listener took three chats and had a positive influence in any of those chats, they deserve a call out or, at a minimum, not to be excluded by the thread identifying others.
There has been talk of chatrooms and forums giving the vibe of a click, a group, that one is either a member of or is excluded from. There has been talk of what perpetuates the issue. I am pointing one out here, now.

EDIT: I said truly make this thread exclusive, a misstatement. I meant truly make this thread inclusive, and find a reasonable way to tag every listener that made a difference.

I understand your thoughts on this and understand them. Unfortunately, there is not a way to alert everyone to posts, short of putting this as a notification on the dashboard. There are many listeners who don't visit the forums much at all, and as I primarily help out in the listener forum, I don't see many many listeners who do work in the support forums. The tags aren't saying that they are the only people I want to thank, but if I, or whenever people add tags, want to get a post to be seen by as many as possible, using a tag list, is a great way to get started - if you know 5 or 10 listeners that I didn't tag, then you can tag them in, then maybe they could tag more in... However, there are also many forum posts which don't get noticed at all, or very little, and by tagging at least a number of listeners in, get's it more noticed, and bumped up the recent posts more so hopefully others will see it more.
With regards to the listeners you talked about in the first instance, all chats are confidential, so unless I was their peer support, I would have no reason to know that they've done that. That's why I've said about the fantastic number of chats taken, and thanked everyone through that, whether or not they see it.
I am sorry you see it as a clique, but if you give me a list of more listeners, I'd be happy to add them to my list...
@Pickles68 I do understand your intent here and understand your frustration, despite being in the dark as to whether this post was only intended to push your point, I do wish to stress the fact that as listeners we do not save lives any more than we cause deaths it is not intended as a crisis hotline.
The new posts are obvious to see, I found it and I wasn't tagged. The post was listed on the home page dashboard as a new post. When I went to the forums, it was obvious as a new post. The tag list is redundant.
In which case, it doesn't matter having the tag list either way, if you see it anyway... I know I don't have the time to go through the forums 24/7 and so being tagged in on threads that listeners have been using the tags for, I find very useful... and if I see the thread and don't want to participate, I just ignore the tag...
I've removed you from the tag list as you said on the other forum in any case!

7 Cups grows bigger and bigger every day. This is the most amazing job in the world. I'd go crazy without 7 Cups. I love being a listener and moderator. I like being on peer support and helping out my fellow listeners. I love it all. This is my place to go to calm down when I'm mad or anxious. Just moderating the chat rooms is a very good way for me to take my mind off of things. I love this place. I think it's amazing. We accomplish new things everyday. We will go down in history.
