I have learned that there are times when you change so much that you cant be helped by the same things you once could count on. When you finally realize that not just your circumstances have changed but you have changed. Then fiding the courage to help yourself by asking how to manage rather then just resorting to the same old and figuring its goods enough. I liken it to shedding skins. It can hurt when its raw, but it has to come off to allow anything real to flourish. Thank you to those on this forum who have found that courage and share your stories! It helps us all.
@MPetra - I think this is very true and important. Thank you so much for putting it into words.
@MPetra
Yes, and I think it is crucial to change when we have changed, if that makes sense. Thank you for sharing too. :)
made it to step 265.... thinking about what i've learned.
I've learned to ask for help when I'm down in the dumps, and to look for positivity each day if possible.
@kindofblue Thats really great that you can now ask for help as it can be a difficult thing to do and Congrats on reaching step 265
thanks, @Lissymay! I hope you're having a great day.
I'm at Step 60 on my growth path now. I managed to leave my place everyday for the past few days and go and socialize with people or just sit at a Starbucks and be productive :3
@WhyLantern Congrats on reaching step 60
I've learned to accept my flaws as trade-offs for my qualities.
@Isthatallthereis
Ha, that's a really nice way of thinking of it. :D Thanks for sharing this, and I hope you'll continue being awesome. :)
Nothing yet, but I'm working on it
@Babs17
You'll get there. *hugs* Learning's an ongoing process anyway. :p
To know that i can do this
@lilynlucy508
You got it. <3
Step # 280
I am a very sleepy panda. I learned that even if you think/feel like your life is pointless and you have no purpose, there are at least a couple people, who you meet, whose lives depends on you: For something as little as your smile brightening up someone's day, to something as big as literally saving someone's life, you matter to other people. Don't give up on life and the people in it, because if they had the opportunity, those people-whose lives you changed-wouldn't give up on you.
@RedPandaExpress88
That's a big idea, the enormity of it. I'm glad if it's something you now personally believe in. :)
@guidingMusic
I do. Ever since I became friends with a new listener on this site, I feel like I'm on the right path to positively impacting the lives of others. I wish him well and I wish you well, too. Have a good day/night. 😏
I've learned that although I am not in control of what happens in my life, I am in control of how I react to things that happen in my life.
@GlenM I learned that it's okay to need help.
This is something I'm trying to learn rather than something I've learned. I'm trying to be patient with myself. Today made me realize how hard that is for me. I work in retail and on the sales floor I perform great but whenever I'm assigned cashier I get really stressed, because there's more pressure on cashiers at my store. I had a breakdown a couple weeks ago and had been giving my cashier shifts to coworkers, but I decided to try and take todays. I got up this morning and was so stressed, my stomach hurt and I developed a stress headache. I called out of work, then decided to go to a bookstore because I thought reading would calm me down. I get there and my head is not all there, the focus isn't happening. It took me 2 hours to read 4 chapters, and these chapters where not long. I started to get stressed again, I thought I was gonna be able to go there and finish the book I wanted to read but when I realized my pace I knew I wasnt going to make it far in before I had to leave. I sat there staring at the page trying to concentrate but I couldn't anymore. I started to criticise myself. You can't handle what should be a normal shift for most people, you can't read at what is considered a normal pace for most people, what can you do? But I stopped. I realized what I was doing. I decided to challenge myself. In response I said in my mind I am doing the best I can. I am trying. The fact that I am not dead right now is proof. No one can take that from me. I'm trying my best.

Double post, because original message didn't appear. XD
The fact that you managed to reverse your position on your thoughts, that takes effort. You might not have learned, as in mastered(?) this, but you're taking some good steps towards it. :)
Maybe if it helps, you could even think of it as, for a while now you'd been afraid and weary of the stress from taking your cashier shift, but you went to confront this which takes guts. In the aftermath of your stress reaction and feelings of sickness, you took a step back and went to do something you thought you'd enjoy, to try and relax and take care of yourself. You tried, and yes it does mean something.
Take care of yourself. *hugs* Don't give up, you're worth it.
