I started using this app about 3 weeks ago when I had a massive panic attack. Since then I have been able to use this app to take myself out of my head even if for only 5 minutes. Thank you 7 cups of tea for being one of my happy places!

April 18th, 2016

@SecretSiren I agree completely!

I am worth it. I have no control over people places and things I only have control over myself.

April 18th, 2016

@LoriT526

That's good. It sounds like you're taking a step towards being responsible for yourself, and only you.

Learning to better communicate how I feel without it sounding like an excuse

April 18th, 2016

@Birdwatching

Cool. It's not an excuse anyway even if you don't say it well, but better communication's always good.

Staying calm,don't just listen to others, hear there words,they may not realize how they sound, before you react to them

April 18th, 2016

@Birdwatching

I've been seeing some posts from you recently about blocking out what others say and ignoring negativity and well, I wish you luck with that. I hope that what you're working on thinking of differently is actually harmful to you.

@guidingMusic having a real hard time right now, I'm not seeing positive things at the moment, Nothing to do with anyone here, people here are great and have been giving me different ways of seeing things, instead of my tunnel vision way at the time, I have fibromyalgia, osteoarthritis, bursitis, herniated disks, siatica, depression, anxiety, and a few other things, I very been given the roll of taking care of mom and dad's business, and filling there contracts, taking care of them with things they can't do, and my uncle whose wheelchair bound, my dad had 2 strokes back to back, the only way my mom knows how to communicate is by insults and screaming, my dad unspeakable language and bad temper until they get what they want, I try to have one day a week, for me and my husband, and I get to pay for it for the rest of the week and it's getting worse, still trying to set boundaries, today it didn't work, because I spent yesterday with my husband his only day off. I turned my phone off so I wasn't on call. I'm not a bad person just trying go have a day for me, without being punished for it. Wanting to learn how to handle things calmly, all I can do is keep trying, my mom is ocd, my uncle germaphobic my dad still thinks he can do the way he used to. Both households depends on the income I bring in. I'm just lost right know. Thanks for listening

@Birdwatching

That's a lot of pressure being put on you, to have to take care of at least three people with their medical issues while you have your own pain problems, and to support them all financially.

You sound like you're being frayed to the edges, which I imagine isn't helped by how unappreciative your parents are and how distorted their ability to communicate in a more thoughtful way is, and how immature they seem. They do have their issues to work out, which I don't believe you should have to bear the full brunt of.

Just reading this, I get the feeling of you being trappped, just stuck with this current situation. You can't even take a day off without having to deal with the rolled back consequences.

...

I think you deserve a great chunk of recognition for doing what you have. I hope that with some time, they will start learning to reapect your boundaries and the time you need. It seems some progress has been made with small things, like your mom recognizing when you're getting annoyed?

Take care.

@nehya well said :). It is also okay just to be a less than best version of you too. We can't always be our best and that is a good thing. Life would probably be a bit too boring.
