Hello I'm jessicaCady I'm new on here
Learning that doctors really don't know what to do for someone who has anxiety and their biggest trigger is loud noises.. today officially being july 1st and even though they are illegal here people insist on setting off fireworks. I asked for something that would keep me calm for the next few days so the doc prescribed me sleeping pills and says take 1 in the morning and 1 at night around 6:00. Hmm so let me get this straight you want me to sleep for the next 4 days and not function at all?? Way to put that education to use!!!
20 steps.
I had learned to follow my breath. To feel it. To be it. To know it.
Sometime I feel like every day gets harder but if I focus on rationalizing it, it becomes much easier.
It is one year ago today, to the minute (give or take a few) "hehe!" that I was discharged from my local hospitals AMHU (Adult Mental Health Unit) and started my journey of recovery utilising rehabilitation services and day to day living programs that were offered and available to me.
I know I wouldn't be where I am without a few others and of course myself. It was a choice to change and ultimately understand how to manage my as yet not fully diagnosed mental health issues which stand along side the physical disability that is part of me, in this year I have gained employment and kept it, of course had my good and not so good days, but I've kept at thing never giving in (even though I have wanted to).
I'm rather proud of myself for this feat of strength I have made happen, because I wanted it, that's not to say I'm completely free and clear I know there is much more to come and I know that I can do this on my own, and with the love and support from everywhere that doesn't treat me as invisible but includes me, something which I am working on via CBT and DBT in the near future (I hope, as it's hard to get into).

step 180: it took me this long to fully see how much of a lack of autism acceptance and understanding there is on this site.
You are not going through this alone

No matter what you're going through, you are never alone!
This April I was confined in the ER because I tried to commit suicide. It's funny, I feel like I've learned a lot and nothing... Life just goes on. Humor is the only thing making this worth while. And I'm grateful for that. 😂
