To be kind to myself as much as I am to others. I am worthy of being loved and respected.

Hi. I'm now on step 20. I have learnt that it's okay to be different. It's okay to be me.

@DarcyFw

What a fabulous realisation, and so true. Be yourself, everyone else is already taken :)

I'm actually able to tell that I am making progress. I now that I am progressing when I find myself in a new and unfamiliar space in life. I was just challenged to try a new approach to life management and it feels awkward. At the same time I am curious to see how I do. I am learning (from seven cups and peer support) is to avoid the pull of "should do", or " wish I would have or could have" . I am beginning to think of them as unreal terms. I have time only to live in the moment by doing responsible things. I can't always second guess myself. There are standards.....like stay to the right of center, don't drive on the shoulder of the road, stop at the red light or crosswalk....and so on. Those sort of things extend to human relationships, thoughtfulness, the way I navigate life. I call those etics, standards, rules....whatever. But outside of those standards I am learning to stay in motion, do what I can do, and carry less guilt and self judgment. Hard habit to break, but I'm making progress!!!
