I learned that there's always positive things in the midst of the storm.

And breathing. Breathing is good. C:

@intellectualMap6035

That's awesome! I am so happy for you :) Things are never perfect and we tend to focus on the negative; I am so proud that you are able to push that aside and try to focus on the positive. You are doing great, keep up the good work!

I've acknowledged that some values - like good manners, politeness and not hurting others - are not universal values. I am not living in the time and social class of Jane Austen, there are people who are taking advantage of women who want to be polite all the time, people who are going to ignore "no" unless it is rude like "I've said no, are you stupid or deaf or both?".

Just set the politeness as a default thing, but be fast in removing people from "behaving politely towards X".

@carefulBike3504

It is a much different time that we live in and I have struggled with this same premise, but in the end, the only thing we can do is focus on what we can control. We can control how we treat others and I found that focusing on that makes things a bit easier :)

Step 10 first milestone. I have learned that this web site believes there is a better way, and that it might be my time to give therapy another try.
