Learning to accept feeling down. It does not mean that I enjoy being down but identifying that it is ok to be down and to allow whatever time it takes to recover. This does not mean that I let go but it means that I continue my own basic upkeep (hygiene, sleeping plenty, laundry, eating healthy, mental and emotional upkeep too). I realize recently that I could not force myself to do beyond what basic upkeep I am already doing and after work I just immerse in watching TV shows- it even took me awhile to accept watching TV, but learning to accept it and telling myself that its ok helps me redefine the way I think.

One thing I've learned is that my anxiety skews my perceptions of things pretty badly. When I'm worried about something, I'll interpret things in a way that supports what my anxious mind believes to be true. But most times, there's actually nothing wrong and my mind is just playing tricks on me. So I need to take a step back and really think about whether I'm creating problems where there are none.

So I joined yesterday, and even knowing that I have this site to look at for positivity and am able to talk to someone has helped me. I feel calmer than I did yesterday, and do not feel as overwhelmed or apathetic. Just wanted to say that I have learned that there is always someone willing to listen, which I am grateful for. Thanks. To whoever.
