Step 14, what I've learned: Patience and structure. Help takes it's sweet time and I have to keep myself moving forward until (or even if) it arrives. In my experience, it usually doesn't. People don't know how to deal with others who are enduring and pushing through pain and grief. They say they are there for me, but I can't trust them to not judge and share even minor things with others after I have confided in them. My best friend/soulmate/spouse who has been my support for over 25 years gave up and I don't blame him. Who would choose this for their life? I wasn't aware of how damaging my illness was on others and he wasn't born knowing how to help or cope with caring for someone who was that emotionally unstable. The biggest thing I've been working on with this site is understanding why he's gone and being happy for him and his new love. I never meant to hurt him or complicate his life. I decided I'm not going to pursue alimony or ask for half of what we built together. He deserves it all for putting up with me and my illness as long as he did. I thank him for being there to be the rock for our son when I was overwhelmed and unbalanced. He deserves it all for that too. I wasted his time and his love and I'm sorry I didn't set him free to follow his own bliss before he got to the point of giving up. I'm so very sorry.

I've learned to not judge every situation. I don't have to be either right or wrong with my thoughts or decisions. I can just let the exist and accept them.

I can be good, smart, funny, attractive, and kind. When I don't feel like those things, I know there are reasons and that those states are fluid and mostly dependent on my mood. I'm not always in control of how I feel, but I can always remember that I'll eventually feel better about myself if I just put effort into being mindful about my mood.

I have been speaking my truth, especially to myself. I am a warrior. I will conquer anything life throws at me. I am free to make the choices for my life that I see fit and I don't owe anyone an explanation.
