I am learning that I do have strength and I need to have faith in my own abilities.
@purpleWest8143
that is great!
I should take chances and not be afraid of them.
@PluckyLuck248
Exactly!

It's about making the time!
@pinkPine9506 Precisely, time management is essential for a healthy lifestyle. Well said!
I have learned that being heard and understood is a true gift that has been given to me here.
@teleah70 It is great to hear that you feel heard and understood here. We are here for you! Thanks for sharing!
that even though i feel and seem to be alone - i always have spiritual guidance available to me
i blame everyone else in my treatment program for not " alowing" me to talk about my trauma - when in reality - its my own fear and rules i learned ( " do not talk about it) that is standing in the way.
@blissedNblessed I'm glad that you feel you have spiritial guidance to help you out; it can really help in healing. You show awesome self awareness in figuring out what is stopping you from speaking up on your trauma. You are always welcome to share it with us here. :) Keep up the great work!
The chances of two people being together, both thinking they found the love of their life and want to be with them indefinately is atronomically small. Too many variables need to align. I know this now, after 42 years of short and long term relationships, I met someone that I truly love and that made me whole. Made me feel and do things I couldn't have imagined true. I found true love finally.
She left me. It hurts. Perfect love between two people is nearly impossible to find and the chase is endless and rather pointless. Most people settle for less, I can't, I won't, I'll be alone forever.
@Duckies
Love yourself first. You've got to be the cake! Think of yourself as a delicious cake- the right mix of all the ingredients needed, put in the oven for just long enough, frosted and decorated just like you like. You're enough on your own. A partner is just a scoop of ice cream by your side that makes dessert that much more fun.
@frankHemlock4968
I know I should love myself, but you're missing my point. Your analogy about the cake is wrong, that is settling for less. I don't want to settle for less now that I've tasted true love. When you love someone truly, they are not mere scoop of ice cream that finishes the dish, they will be so much more than that. At least half or maybe even a bit more, because when you truly love someone, their happyness is just as, or even more import than your own and you'll do anything in your power to make it happen.
So I'm alone again. Need to process my feelings, need to be happy on my own again. But getting involved with someone again will be next to impossible, since I don't need the cherry on the cake, I want the equal other half of it.
I need to have faith in my own abilities.
@impartialLychee6279 Hi there, lovely to see you here! Yes, that is something many of us struggle with, and admitting it is a great first step in overcoming this obstacle. I have faith in you! Thanks for sharing, and best wishes to you!
Voicing fears makes it seem that much easier to overcome them
@Brookc Welcome to the community! Indeed, voicing out our fears is a critical step in acceptance and overcoming them. Well done!
