Well today was a pretty good day. I made connections at the gym and the rest can be traced in the general support subforum and the day is not over yet. #takingiteasy

Step 70. Took me a lot longer to get here than step 50 I think. I have learned it's still important to keep myself in check even if my initial stresses are done with I still need to come back and check in everyday with myself at the very least. I can not be helpful to others if I am not helping myself. I have a very bad habit of being very very very good at keeping everyone else in good health but I forget about my own Working more on that!

@Amor90200

I struggle to remember to take care of myself first, too. Airplane rule, right?

User Profile: Amor90200

@frankHemlock4968 I'm curious, what's the airplane rule? I've never heard of it (or at least not called that maybe I dunno, I don't fly much haha).

I used to be a bit better at taking care of myself.... but now I'm doing the stay at home thing and I don't have specific days off and such so I think I feel like I need to always be doing something for everyone else. I forget doing things for myself and taking a day to do things for me is also good and will be helpful for everyone else in the long run. When I was working full time I felt I deserved the days off I guess. I KNOW i'm doing a lot of a work around here and I'm not diminishing that at all (neither are my partners) but I guess I'm so used to work being out of the home that I need to change my thinking.

As I grow into health old friends will start to leave and I will start to leave old friends. Not in hate or anger, but because our paths have veered off from each other and I am opening up the door to meet new friends that can support me along my way.

I learned about magical thinking in regard to my OCD

@placidSquare9564

Ooh, what

User Profile: placidSquare9564
placidSquare9564 June 6th, 2018

@rebecca947 Hi, Rebecca. Magical Thinking is part of OCD for many people. It is the belief that your own thoughts or actions can cause unrealistic things to happen as a result. Like "Ok, if I don't put my shoes in just the right place, something bad will happen to me tomorrow morning". That's the best way I can explain it. <3 Thank you

Ahh, thanks for explaining! I never knew the thought process had a name! New thing I learnt now :p xx
