I have learned that it is ok to reach out to people, that it's ok to leave a toxic community and seek out healthy and positive ones.

Surrounding ourselves with people that are supportive, empathetic, and kind can improve our wellbeing and mental health. While being around toxic and empathy lacking people can cause us to feel unwell emotionally.

I've learned that having depression is something that can happen to anybody, not just me. That I shouldn't try to use it to make myself feel more isolated.

I learned that existing is okay, and that I can be allowed to take up space in appropriate environments. I learned that I am worthy of others eyes on me.

I learned that everything in life is a process, and a continuation of learning up until the end.

I learned that compassion is a responsibility, and that compassion needs to reach not just the world but yourself as well.

I learned that no one's best is going to be the same. My best will never be like other peoples best, and other peoples bests will never be like mine. I'm still learning and growing. So is everyone else.

I learned life is not about the big goal at the end of the road, not the big aspiration I hold onto, but about the tiny goals I make every day. Get out of bed, brush my teeth, take my meds. The tiny goals I make every week like call my father, or go see a movie alone because I want to see it and I want to treat myself. Those tiny goals are what make up my life and I should feel accomplishment for every single tiny goal I meet.
