Hello, I am still learning about this website. I have learned about mindfulness through meditation.
@craftionista~ welcome to 7 cups
.. i hope the mindfulness exercises are helping
What you think matters. It doesn't matter if other people think differently of you, wrongly accuse you or claim that you don't know what you're talking about. Those kinds of people have their own issues that they are trying to work with. Rather, they fuel their problems and bring other's down as they try to beef up their own self-confidence while burying their problems. We are all wonderful people if we are not only allowed to embrace ourselves but if we allow ourselves to embrace others around us. Everyone matters.
@EnergeticSoul~ that's a wonderful thought... thank you for sharing
@EnergeticSoul the people I help aren't users. Generally, I assist my bipolar friend in not choosing less than ideal coping methods. I generally don't speak about my own problems, because when I do, I get pity. I don't want pity.
I feel like I'm able to improve. I''m hopeful!
@LightOfDawn~ thats awesome!
.. keep it up! ![]()
Wondering why hard things always seem to happen when something bad is already happening...
I've learned... that it's too easy for anyone with depression to lose touch with the things that matter to them, even simple things we'd think might be obvious. So the most important thing I've learned so far is that I need to reintroduce structure to my life, regardless of whether I feel like I want to or not -- I have to try and make time not just for what other people need me to do, but for what I need to do for myself.
But I've also learned I need to shed a few more bad habits, like even small spurts of retail therapy, relying on food to ease anxiety, and caring too much what other people think about me.
@Achromatik~ i think thats a great start... baby steps... so proud of you!
I've learnt from being here that I am in control of my own future, I just have to find the will to change it for the good.
@bubblePrune8762~ baby steps but you'll get there... the main thing is you want to get there and thats great!
