That no one can change who I really am, and it isn't my fault that they refuse to try and understand the defining part of my life. I've also learnt that I'm not alone, not truly, no matter how much my head keeps telling me I am. Also, because of this site and the encouragement of others, I am on a path to stop cutting. Wish me luck, everyone.

Yay step 210! Well what I truly learned through my journey on 7 cups is that love isn't necessarily physical. You don't have to hug or kiss someone to express it. There's so many people in here that I love. People I've helped and people that helped me. People I care about. People that make me feel happy. People I include in my prayers. And I've only talked to them behind a screen.

I love you guysheart and thank you for loving meheart

I absolutely love 7 cups. I am learning how to love myself once again after a tramatic experience that happened 3 years ago. I'm on step 11 and I have learned so much already. Medication alone isn't helping as much as it was. I am already feeling more relaxed, not as stressed, that my life has more meaning, and just to be able to let go of guilt and love myself again is HUGE!! Maybe, I will find myself onmce again!! Thank you for this wonderful site.

Much love to all,

Babychick82

I've been working on the steps but I"m challenged in finding things to be thankful for or finding things I did well today. I'm doing my best but the well-being is eluding me.

Well, I've just reached the 10th step on this website. I'll share what I've learned throughout my life, I might share parts of my story, I hope someone can get something out of what I'm about to say.

I was a drug addict who was lonely and struggling with depression, I had an apathetic mindset toward myself. I didn't care if I lived or died, all I really wanted was a doctor's note that would excuse me out of life. The closest thing I found were drugs. Nobody told me that when I'd use drugs as a doctor's note that my problems I was trying to avoid in the first place pile. I won't go into specifics but this lead to that and it caused me more problems. I didn't want to deal with my issues because they were difficult to deal with, I was done with life because it was to hard.

Throughout my life I kept moving around to different towns, as a result I never stayed anywhere long enough to make friends. I knew that they would either leave me or I'd leave them. I ended up being lonely and desperate for any sort of interaction with the people I met. They thought I was annoying and did their best to avoid me. Everyone called me an attention seeker, this is true but all I really wanted was friendship.

When I was in middle school I finally made some friends whom I thought accepted me. They weren't the good kids or the straight A students but they were people I could have some decent conversations with at school. These were the kids I ended up doing drugs with in the future. Toward the end of my stay I moved away again and now I'll explain how I felt in a metaphor (This was prior to me going to treatment)

"I felt like a kid in a forest, and I feel like I've been running through this forest for awhile now. I started off walking with a group of all my friends. As time went on we were unable to accept our differences and one by one we split up and went our separate ways. the smaller the group got the faster we traveled through the forest because we panicked as were losing parts of ourselves we thought we needed. After all we were just pieces. It was as if we were all pieces of a different puzzle put together in one set as if expecting the pieces to fit together. as the last few people began to leave I felt as if begging them to stay would have kept them My past experience tells me that you can only make choices for yourself. now the overwhelming feeling of loneliness takes over as I realize that i'm the only one left. Now I'm running through this forest alone wondering to myself why everyone had to split up, when clearly we would've been safer if we all stuck together, or at the very least we would be content with having each other. the cold truth that brought me back to reality is when I remembered what a friend of mine told me one time; he said, "Everyone of us ends our story alone, at the end of the story count how many people left during each chapter then tell me i'm wrong". Its strange how hard words can hit you, and its scary how easily you can come to accept them when everything inside you is telling you not to. knowing me I let these words seep into my mind and harden like concrete, then I moved on. As I continued to run through the forest I looked up to see all my friends and everyone I ever knew sitting up on the tree branches staring down at me, looking confused as to why I was running. At that very moment I heard footsteps behind me and as I looked back I noticed something chasing me. I didn't know what was chasing me but the aura in the air told me it was something dangerous and evil. as I began to run faster the people in the trees began yelling asking "why are you running?" as if they were clueless as to what was pursuing me . this didn't surprise me, people are always oblivious to the things that bring a person down, then they ask themselves "why did a good man have to die so young". i felt as if i was a tree tumbling down in a forest with nobody around to hear me fall."

I wrote that about a week or so before I went to treatment. My experience at treatment was something that I wouldn't trade for anything but I definitely don't want to go back there. I Won't take up anymore time writing but I'll express what I've learned so far in the following bullet points.

*Life's not easy

*The best way I can help people is by sharing my experience and hopefully they can take something from it.

*You reap what you sow (Life gets better if you put in an effort to make it better)

I hope I helped someone today.
