I just reached #20 .
I know that it dosen't sound like that big of a deal, compared to other people posting here, but I'm kinda proud of myself for once... >u<

Yay! I made it to level 20! I learned that anxiety is like an annoying, unwanted party guest. You can either prevent yourself from having fun by trying to prevent it, or you can accept it, and maybe learn something new about it, and yourself.

Learning that unfortunately sometimes it's easier to figure things out by myself...than connect with a listener. sad Too many experiences in the past weeks where listeners either weren't supportive, didn't take time to listen before responding with advice, or just up and disappeared. It's hard enough reaching out...but when you have experiences time and time again that are like this...puts me in a place where I no longer even want to reach out. broken heart So I guess I'm learning that sometimes you really are alone...

On step Ten.... just got through a panic attack and coming here after helped with my detached come-down on the other side. Or is helping, rather.

Hope everyone out there is feeling okay.

@KTrozz I've started having panic attacks again recently, so now I know that I really need help. Well done on getting through it, it does pass. Here if you need a chat.

@nobuochick

I haven't had many for near two years now and they all came sliding back... the past few weeks have been rough but yesterday pushed me to call my doctor and schedule an appointment asap.

I'm really sorry to hear you're in a similar boat. I'm here to talk as well. We can and will get through this.

@KTrozz Good stuff on recognising it and getting an appointment asap, I often think that my GP can't help me or won't take me seriously so that prevents me from going. However, I have an appointment to see a therapist in January so hopefully this is finally the start of something that is going to work!

Sorry that your attacks have come back after two years, it's really scary when it happens in general but when they come out of the blue (which is what they LOVE to do, render you winded and vulnerable) it's even worse. It will get better, because it has to. It simply has to. Much love and hope to you.

@nobuochick Congratulations on making that step. I hope that you click well with your new therapist and find some comfort and assistance in this next part of your journey on fighting anxiety. It's personally really helped me throughout the years, I don't know what I would have done or where I would have ended up without therapy.

It is really scary - on the bright side, we all have each other here at 7cups and it's a very safe place to work through all of this. Much love and hope to you as well, I hope your holiday season is full of relaxation and happiness.

@KTrozz Thank you, and the same to you too. It is a relief to have a safe and non-judgmental community here that you can just say how bad you feel and get it off your chest.

I have been increasingly more honest with myself and with my friends. I feel so much weight lifted off of my shoulders now that I am actually being who I am. As the new year approaches I'm hoping to just keep getting more comfortable with who I am and sharing that with others.

Step 50, what I've learned: Depression lies to me; anxiety is a tightrope I feel like I'm crossing while balancing a towering stack of plates with one hand and juggling with the other. It's not weak to have a support system in place, to ask for help when I need it. People care about me more than I realize.
