How you stay strong
Hey everyone.
We tell men that their strength is in hiding their emotions.
Be strong hold back the tears.
We tell woman that their strength is in sharing their emotions.
She cannot take care of herself - she is not physically strong. Her strength lies in her compassion.
So how do you stay strong?
Whats your idea of strength?
How do you heal or what do you to heal?
Where do you get your hope from ?
Your courage from?
Society may make rules but we have our rules and values to think openly ❤️

So how do you stay strong? by reminding myself there is a light at the end of the tunnel, and its okay to have bad days.
Whats your idea of strength? Kindness, love, compassion and courage
How do you heal or what do you to heal? by setting boundaries and taking time for myself, such as self-care and just being alone with myself, but not the lonely alone type, the peaceful alone time where i can sit and learn more about myself as a person and reflect back on what i can do to better myself,
Where do you get your hope from ? my children, my recovery, and my positive peers.
Your courage from? my goals, when i meet my goals i know its possible, so i don't let my anxiety get in the way anymore, i use courage from my past met goals to succeed on the future ones. even if i let myself down, or fail, i get back up and get the courage to try again

Self-development could kinda be my answer for all of that. I have loved ones, and I have established a life for myself, but I always have potential for more. I have a weird past. I've survived a lot of life-or-death situations that came out of nowhere, seen so many things that seem so surreal to me, dealt with drastic changes... At this point, I get that my life was never meant to be simple. I've had to adapt a lot, and at some point, I decided to do more adaptation proactively rather than reactively. I can't say I'm prepared for anything, but I'm not interested in being bogged down by any one problem that I can prevent, and feeling like I'm making progress as a person feels liberating and good.
@GoldenRuleJG I derive hope from my track record - the average trajectory of my life over the past 10 years has improved. Any and all setbacks have been temporary, even the big ones. Every failure is evidence that I am learning and getting better all the time.
I draw strength from myself. I know that I am intelligent, capable, and resourceful. Of course, there are times when I forget this, but I still move forward only to remember it again later!
One thing I always come back to is that life is not about things, it's about people. Strong bonds will help you a lot more in the end than a large bank account or a whole bunch of things. I draw strength from my support system.
Sometimes when we feel weak, we need to have the strength to over come any of our own 'strength bias' to reach out for help. It takes strength to admit you aren't 'all it', that you 'have it all together.' We're imperfect human beings. We have to let down our pride and ego to allow ourselves to get the support we need at times.
Having PTSD, I believe I find my strength in knowing what my triggers are, avoiding them when I can. When I can't, I say this to myself, "this too shall pass." And I focus on what in the here and now gives me comfort.
I guess I'd say real strength comes from 'self-awareness' when you're talking about emotional or mental strength.
