A Year in 7 Cups

It seems sorta unbelievable to me to be writing this today. Just one year back, on the very same date, I never expected nor imagined to be staying here for one full year !!!

When I stumbled upon this site, it felt for the first time in my life that probably I will be finding a sense of purposefulness of my life here- the purpose that I was searching for a long, long time. And I wasnt wrong. 7 Cups quickly became a special part of my life. A place that I have always expected to exist in real world !

I met so many people here – members and listeners: people who have taught me valuable things in life. The site itself helped me grow so much as a human being that I cant thank enough to this big family with a big, big heart.

I quickly expanded myself from 1-on-1 chats to making LSR my second home. Leading member room discussions was my first love here and I remember the busy days of February and March 2017 with different special events. They were super fun and creative. The love for discussions made me want to become a Group Mod. I am forever grateful to @QuickJazz and @Hope for trusting me with discussion leading in my very early days.

@Hope is a true leader, amazing guide and friend. She has enormous impact on my journey here. I joined as one of the first few support session leaders of Eating Disorder Support team when Eating Disorder Support became a sub-community and it was she who had more faith on me than I had on myself. She even trusted me for managing the team later on. Eating Disorders Support team has been one of the constant parts of my journey here. I saw this team growing over time through ups and downs. I am grateful to everyone who has been a part of the team in any way.

I am grateful to @tazcares and @ridearainbow. They helped me a lot as a new listener here and have been huge inspiration.

@eviesweet is true sweetheart. She has been a guide for me in many different ways and her commitment and dedication for anything she does is exemplary. Meeting @dancingrainbow45 and @KristenHR is another wonderful thing happened to me here. I can never match their quality as human beings and leaders, but I have always tried to learn from them in every way possible.

@beYOUtywithin has been like an umbrella over my head whenever I was lost, confused and needed guidance. @Yendi is a lovely, lovely, lovely friend. I am constantly learning from her wisdom, leadership qualities and I am forever inspired by her kindness. @Erato Era the kiddie, a genuine, true friend I met and she always makes me smile. She has a big heart, cheerful mind and she never fails to amaze me.

@mimibliss and @AnActiveListenerHere, you will always be close to my heart.

I have been in quite a few roles here including Peer Supporter, Group Moderator, Verified Listener Team, Forum Supporter, Social Soldiers, Chatroom Mentor, Intern Buddy and Mentor, and Teen Transitioning Mentor. I enjoyed each of the roles. Graduating 7 Cups Internship was a memorable moment for me. It was a crazy 8 weeks and I learned things that I probably wouldnt have learned ever otherwise.

Being Teen Transitioning Mentor is probably one big highlight for me. I quickly fell in love with the amazing bunch of teenies and some most wonderful friendships grew in no time ! TL soon became my favorite abode.

Friendship Room holds millions and zillions of crazy, fun conversations that I was a part of. A part of my heart resides in FR. The room possesses secret power to boost instant creativity in its habitants and the funny games and conversations that barely made any sense are the proof of that.

Over the year, I have seen a lot of things changing here. I have seen people coming and leaving the site. A lot of people who were generous enough to co-lead special events discussions with me when I wasnt a group mod have left. Some of the people, who inspired me, trusted me left as well. While I very well know that this is a natural part of human life, I miss these people deeply. I miss the crazy, super fun, super-fast LSR and some of the regular listeners of it. Life changes and so is the site and its people. I wish from the core of my heart that the people who have left the site, stay blessed wherever they are.

Many people, who know me, know as well that I never consider my 7 cups roles as permanent or compulsory in my life. I never had specific target to achieve any role. I applied and took them when I felt like doing so. And I stepped down from my responsibilities whenever I felt that I was unable to give my best to the role. I want to be here as gracefully as possible. I dont know whether I will be here on this day the next year. Maybe I will, maybe I wont. But I am incredibly proud of making it to one year here and I feel extremely fortunate for the amazing experiences with the amazing people here.

And thats why I want to tag some of the people who have been a part of my journey in different ways- big or small. I want to thank you all for every support and inspiration you gave me and every time you made me smile.

If I missed anyone, I am extremely sorry. The cold winter night is to be blamed for playing with my memory !

I found a sense of purpose of my life in 7 Cups and it will always hold a special place in my heart.
