Happy happy Birthday 7 Cups! 🥰
Happyyy Birthdayyyy, 7 Cups! 💖🎉
(Quick disclaimer people: this sun finally got to sit down and type their heart’s content sooo this one’s a longer read and you may want to keep some snacks and maybe tissues closer)
Oof okayyy so I recently completed 6 years on here and I never really got a chance to properly pen down my feelings ever since. (adult-ie life, not recommended xD ) But today seemed like the perfect day to recollect some precious moments and soak in that wave of gratitude even more deeply! 😭💖
6 years back, I came here with one simple wish in my mind, “to save a life.” I was younger back then. (Lmao, not me sounding like I’m 80 or something right now hahaha👀😭) But younger in the sense that my wish of saving a life came from the purest place in my heart. I just wanted to do whatever I could to help someone live easier. I probably didn’t realise the wiser perspective of that feeling, or the nitty-gritties of what “saving a life” actually even means.
It’s not that simple.
Saving a life?! What was I thinking? Who am I? God? The creator of the universe? WonderHooman? 😂
None of them, really.
Just a random persun wishing deeply to be of at least some use to somebody. To remind people that there’s so much more to life than whatever currently makes them feel like there isn’t.
To assure them that they are worthy of being heard, of being seen, of being supported, of being cared for, and of being loved.
If I had superpowers, I’d simply take away everyone’s pain and throw it straight into the Bermuda Triangle lol. Everyone would stay happy, healthy, and hearty forever.
And honestly, given the choice, I’d still do exactly that.
But over the years, I’ve also come to realise something. Even if there are things we never deserved, things that make absolutely no sense for having happened to us or with us, they still become a part of the story that shapes us. They leave us with an understanding about ourselves, about life, and about everything in between that we perhaps wouldn’t have had otherwise. Not saying that this understanding is always perfect or even correct (xD), but simply acknowledging that it exists. And that it matters how we choose to look at it, perceive it, learn from it, and practice it.
Yes true that nobody “chooses” to be strong, it’s often what we just become and I am glad a place like this exists reminding us that sometimes being strong is reflected in how we reach out for support.
7 cups provides a place for that! For support and connection and meaningful connections and personal growth and finding a sense of belongingness within a safe, welcoming, kind community.
It plays catalyst for so many of us to be there for each other and I think it’s incredibly beautiful and cherish-worthy! 🫂💖
I’d like to think empathy has always come naturally to me, and even during some of my own hardest seasons, celebrating someone else’s happiness somehow still brought me joy.
But 7 Cups has still deepened those parts of me in ways I never expected. It has nurtured so much resilience, positivity, hope, and self-compassion within me that I genuinely don’t think would’ve blossomed in quite the same way had this little corner of the internet not become such a meaningful part of my life hehe.
It’s easy to be kind to others. I think many of us already know that. 👀
The harder part is being kind to yourself. Or even acknowledging that you deserve your own kindness. And that’s one of the things I love and appreciate most about 7 Cups.
“Self-care” was an alien concept to me!
Somewhere along the way, amidst all the listening, supporting, comforting, and simply being there for one another, being here quietly teaches us to extend that very same compassion and care back to ourselves. And I think that’s one of the most beautiful gifts anyone can receive. 🥰💖
Ooh and I now know better that there are so many ways we can save lives without it having to be something dramatic or extraordinary. By being kind. By paying attention. By noticing. By being gentle. By being genuine. By choosing empathy. By choosing patience. By withholding judgement. By making space for someone’s story. By reminding them that they’re not “too much.” By letting them know they’re worthy of being heard. By checking in. By staying. By believing them. By offering hope. By simply just offering your presence.
Presence is power!
Sometimes, ‘saving a life’ looks a lot less like changing someone’s world, and a lot more like making sure they don’t have to carry it alone, atleast in that very moment of pain. We can’t make people feel magically healed, but we can hold space and offer kindness when they are struggling, and thatttt creates a difference much bigger than we realise. 🫂💖
While this post includes my own journey, I know there are thousandssss of stories like mine here. Every person who’s stayed because someone listened. Every listener who’s wondered if they were making a difference. Every friendship that began with a simple “Hey”. Every conversation that ended with someone feeling just a little less alone and a lot more seen and cared for.
They’re all part of what makes this community what it is today.
To every listener, member, leader, mentor, moderator, admin team member, people in the tech department and every single soul who’s ever contributed to making this community what it is, thank you.
Thank you for every conversation that made someone stay a little longer.
Thank you for every moment you chose compassion over judgement.
Thank you for every “I’m here for you,” every tiny act of kindness, every smile, every laugh, every tear shared, every lesson learnt, every friendship formed, every life touched, and every reminder that humanity still has an incredibly gentle side. (And we are all on there woohooo💪🥰)
I’ve had the privilege of witnessing people from completely different corners of the world come together with one common intention, to make someone else’s day, heart, or life just a little lighter. And that, to me, is something truly truly special.
Happy 13th Birthday again, 7 Cups! 💖🎂
And again xD Omigosh whattt… thirTEEN?! You’re officially a teenager now!

I hope this beautiful community continues to grow while always holding onto the kindness, empathy, warmth, acceptance, hope, and sense of belonging that make it feel like *home* to so many of us.
May countless more people discover that they don’t have to face life alone. May more hearts find comfort. May more tears find understanding. May more smiles find reasons to stay. May more people learn that asking for help is never a weakness.
Here’s to every life gently touched, every story patiently heard, every hope rekindled, and every little reminder that even the smallest acts of kindness can ripple farther than we’ll ever know. Thank you for helping me grow, not just into a better active listener, but into a kinder human being.
Here’s to many, many more years of support, compassion, connection, healing, and all our cups overflowing with hope and love and lots of liight! 🥰💖
If you’ve made it till here, thank youuu! I appreciate you soo much! You now hold a tiny piece of my heart too hehe! 😭💖
Sending out pizzaaa and cake to everyone! 🥰💖 (this is the other superpower I’d really like to have lmao)
