Do you think animals can forgive?

Do you think animals can forgive? They certainly can't tell us whether they have forgiven something or not, so how would we know?

I feel they can. not sure of all animals but dogs can get over being scolded or in a timeout for doing something like chewing something up etc. even if for the first they seem mad or upset for a walk cut short or a trip to vet they either forgive or forget when you make them happy again.
