Good in the world
So, lately, I've been feeling pretty down about the state of...everything. And why not, right? Alot of things are just horrible, and I wouldn't even know where to begin fixing it.
But...the more sorrow I take on seeing others hurt, the less I'm able to actually help them. It's a bit of a vicious cycle, and frankly: I'm done with it.
Sometimes hope isn't just born, i guess. Sometimes you have to nurture it.
So this is basically a thread of the good things in the world. Feel free to add to it! Even personal anecdotes of experiencing that good are welcome!
I want it to be like, a really really long thread xD I want to believe it can.
So, the first one, without further ado:
We can listen to the sounds from 270 World Heritage sites- for free, from anywhere, thanks to this amazing project! How is that not smile-worthy? xD
We are back! This time with good news that made it to the international news channels, too!

Thailand and Cambodia have agreed on a ceasefire after days of border clashes! Guess who didn't hear about this in international news? Seriously, it's like theyre trying to upset us 🫢 Here's to peace in these two lovely countries! More here!
Welsh scientists are a step closer in tackling potato blight, a devastating crop disease. An app developed by them gives farmers an early warning for the disease. No more suprise attacks on our potatos, I hope :) fact check me here!
And here's one that speaks of community impact! Voluntary community patrols in the amazon (not the company xD) have reduced environmental crime by....drum roll please...80%! Starting off strong today with....dragons! Grand Cayman's blue dragons, an absolute marvel of nature, defy expectations and return from near extinction. These lizards, called Blue Iguanas officially and Blue Dragons fondly, moved from 'critically endangered' to 'endangered on the red list', according to my source here :) Here are the mighty dragons themselves, for you to gaze upon in awe:
