Today I saw this image while scrolling through an app and I thought that it presented the perfect opportunity to create a discussion!
I know that at least for me, looking for these “glimmers” every day is what reminds me to focus on the positive. It keeps me from being stuck in the pit of despair that I wake up fighting every single day. We all have demons that we wake up fighting on the daily. And we all have our different ways of fighting and surviving daily.

My glimmer of my day was going to Starbucks with my dad and spending some family time for a few hours before I had to return to the group home.

My "glimmer" is literally that: I have prisms hung in my window and when the light is just right, I get rainbows all over the room. I love standing in just the right spot for the bright, intense color to flash directly into my eyes like a laser beam. 😊

Being at a real low of lows, in the heat of it all, trying to distract myself by scrolling what happened to be cups, and reading those words, put an instant smile right across my face, with tears rolling up, inspite of all the emotional turmoil, behind it.
I knew instantly as I was reading it that it was it's own example, and that it wasn't just a positive emotional trigger, but a spiritual things too.

The words in your original post really resonated with what I was feeling at the time, as if you were speaking directly to me.
Later today I had another glimmer, which was suddenly and unexpectedly observing a certain kind of human vulnerability that somebody was showing towards me. The same vulnerability that I always feared showing towards others. Because it felt shameful. But when I saw it in that person, I didn't feel disgust, or anger, or even anxiety (maybe a tiny bit of second hand anxiety), but instead felt affection and understanding. So it was a beautiful moment for me.

My most recent glimmer happened yesterday. My sibling and I were in a walk, and we reached an intersection where there was a clearing. In that one particular place, the wind stared blowing really hard, and we just stood there with our eyes closed and enjoyed it until it was over. That was a really nice moment, and it kinda made me feel more alone and more like a person.
