✧ Optimism through movies/TV shows ✧
With the marvelous works of writers and creators who have drawn inspiration from life’s challenges, it is only fair to say the least that it would make its way to the big screen, to show us how fictional characters handle life's hurdles and all the emotional challenges that come along with them. We see characters from films and shows have been able to depict the art of being positive. They have been able to show us, through their personality, what they do, the decisions they make, the things they say; the very essence and result of being optimistic even through the darkest of times. We see this sort of behaviour in protagonists too.

One character that taught me that love and optimism transcends all, is Olaf from Frozen. The adorable snowman always wears his best smile and encourages others to do so too. He is the kind of character that lifts your spirits when you feel down and helps you rekindle that flame of hope. He loves the sun and has always dreamt of being a place where Spring thrives, even though it was not a place for him, he still had hopes and dreams and nothing stopped him from achieving them. Not to mention times when he could have easily given up since things seemed hopeless. Just when everybody seemed one step away from turning back, Olaf always had something to say to fight those thoughts of uncertainty. He always saw the positive side of things and he always knew what to say. My favourite quote from him is "I Just Thought Of One Thing That's Permanent. Love.” And that’s so true. Love is the one thing that helps us get through the darkest of times; because it carries with kindness, support, strength and all the things we need to lift each other up.

The future may seem uncertain, but if there is one thing that stays firm, it is the mindset to be able to pace forward, having understood the weight of the situation and even so, not letting it stop you from believing in the good side of it.

In times like this, when you feel the world needs a bit more of positivity, we can look to characters that inspire us to look positvely towards the future ahead of us ❤
Question 1: Who is one fictional character from a film or TV series, that inspires you to be optimistic and why?
Question 2: List some ways in which you could apply the things you learn from this character, in your life.
Tag your friends to have a go at answering these questions too!
Thank you for reading and have a lovely day/evening ♡

@DaisyDaph Inspiring! ⭐ thanks for the story and the inspiration Daph 🤗
I love this sentence: The future may seem uncertain, but if there is one thing that stays firm, it is the mindset to be able to pace forward...
⭐ I'd choose Finding Nemo, Nemo's courage to pursue his dream, Marlin resilience to find Nemo and Dori-Marlin friendship and loyalties to stick with their friend through the worst of times and uncertainties.
⭐ Takeaway: Where there's a will, there's a way

Hi Cherie ❤
I am so happy you took the time to have a read and answer these questions! I can definitely see how Nemo, Marlin and Dori have inspired you in their own little ways. Those are important things to learn; the courage to go ahead and pursue your dreams, as well as to be loyal and have good intentions in friendships through thick and thin.
That's a beautiful takeaway and it is true! Willpower can take us very far. Thank you for sharing this with us
Well I have to say the Mane 6 from My Little Ponies Friendship is Magic! My favorite is Pinkie Pie because... it's Pinkie Pie! There is one episode where they all got sucked into a vortex going to some other place and instead of just getting sucked in she simply jumps in going "Weeeee!!" I maintain my sense of humor and look for the fun even during hard times. It's part of how I recover. She also is super positive about lifting people's spirits and making it her life calling throwing parties and doing hammy jokes. And part of my fun is watching cartoons on the weekend that are cute with bright colors and that make me laugh such as My Little Ponies! Rarity is all about enjoying fashion and fashion always makes me feel better. To enjoy the beauty in the design of life. And sometimes Rarity does a big drama queen thing and faints dramatically on her "fainting couch" which she wills to be there to catch her! lol So from her I know to not take all of the heavy stuff so seriously. Sometimes I do but not forever. With Fluttershy she is positive about animals and giving creatures a chance that most people wouldn't open themselves up to to make welcome. Connecting with people and animals is important to me. By nature I have been open to being friends with people that the world would disdain and shun because they don't look right or have no social standing. And getting hurt can make me want to close that part of my self off. But I know it's only for awhile and that I'll be myself again being able to give someone a chance. Twilight Sparkle is spiritual, studious and passionate about her studies which are two things that are very important to incorporate into my life and always has been. Twilight has a positive attitude about studying and practicing hard. She is also ever humble. Apple Jack is also a hard worker and passionate about her work. She is no nonsense because she is down to earth and practical. She also loves working hard for her friends and seeing that they are happy from her grown apples and cider! Rainbow Dash is positive in that she believes in herself to do well with athleticism. She also works hard for her team and her friends. Princess Celestia is positive because she completely beleives in Twilight even if sometimes she doubts herself or worries that she isn't doing enough or of what is expected by Princess Celestia. She always lifts Twilight up very high and gives her the encouragement and appreciation she deserves. Princess Celestia also is humble. And Spike is the ever helpful helper of his friends without complaining.
More adults need to go back to the beginning and watch shows and cartoons like this and apply it to their adult life rather than think that this stuff is just for kids.
Peace! Happy and Fun Cartoon Watching! I will be tomorrow!

Hello phoenix! ♥
My little pony teaches us so much through their unique characters. I love how you took the time to mention them and talk about what each character shines through their personality and the things they do and believe in. Even the little things they do are uplifting; I like how you notice these things about them. I resonate with what you said when you mentioned Rarity; to enjoy the beauty in the design of life. It's a good way to just sit back and enjoy the good things that happen in life and see it all as part of a greater design, a creative design.
It is indeed a blessing to connect with people and animals, care for them and be able to open up to friends, even those that seem to be suppressed by the world. It shows that you deeply care for the well-being of others and that's a lovely thing. I am glad that even Fluttershy depicts this sort of personality through her character. This would be a good way for people of all ages to get inspiration from.
I completely agree with you on the point that more adults need to watch or re-watch these shows because they teach us such valuable lessons. What a time to revel in :3 I might probably give Mane 6 a watch now that I have this insight to ponder on!
Thank you for taking the time to read and answer the questions phoenix. Take care! 💜
Daisy, I am a little loss at words so I actually had to take my time before replying to this thread. The idea? Fabulous! The way you presented it? Beautiful! The thing you mentioned about Olaf being one of the characters you look up to? The best!
I personally love the idea of this forum thread because I have always been a huge analyst of movies, songs and books. I try my best to make a review of everything I consume and so for this question, I had to dig deep and decide what character I am going to mention. Today, I am choosing to go with Joy from Inside Out!

Question 1: Who is one fictional character from a film or TV series, that inspires you to be optimistic and why?
Joy from Inside Out inspires me to be optimistic but it's not because of the way she is literally the emotion, joy. I think the best character development from that movie was of Joy, Sadness of course helped her but I admire how much Joy put in efforts to change and be better for Riley. She wanted Riley to only be happy all the time and have the best experience possible but she eventually had to realize that some core memories, one which someone will always remember need not be happy, sometimes it can be sadness and it's not a bad thing for the person. She inspires me to be optimistic not because I should aspire to be happy all the time but for the lesson she herself learns about being okay with not making the biggest impact on Riley's mood always. That it's okay to feel sad, disgusted, scared or angry, they don't erase the happy times. She inspires me to take life as it comes and to feel my feelings without associating any being more important.
Question 2: List some ways in which you could apply the things you learn from this character, in your life.
I can accept all of my feelings and try not to force myself to be happy when I am clearly not.
Realize that no emotion is superior to other emotions.
Sometimes having an unpleasant time does not mean you'd be leading a bad life, both good and bad are just part of our life.
ahh forgot to tag some friends: @MrMarino @Max741 @Exulansis00 @DonaldDraper @ChaosIsOrder @TheAutumnWitch would love to hear about your characters if you wish to share!
@lumieremilkyway Thanks for the tag
Because I am a science guy, I am very much inspired by Rick Sanchez from Rick and Morty. He's basically what Dexter from Dexter's lab would grow into. 🤓
@lumieremilkyway
Ah lumie I was looking forward to your post. They always make my day ♥
This response really spoke to me. Joy is an interesting character that you chose and you put it so perfectly. It is important to be able to understand that there is no one emotion that should stay within our hearts and minds, but that it is okay to feel negative emotions like sadness, disgust and all. That is the beauty of life; when you get to experience all these emotions and accept them as they come. I like how you said that Joy inspires you to take life as it comes and feel your feelings without putting either one on a pedestal. All our feelings and thoughts are valid and we can be optimistic with that. Beautiful!
Thank you for sharing these important tips lumie. This is an eye-opener, considering sometimes we forget to recognise each and every feeling as equally important and that it is okay to feel unpleasant or negative because both the good and bad feelings are a part of life. That sure is an optimistic way to look at it! Thank you for answering these questions lumiere. I enjoyed reading your response. Take care 💜
Hey!! Agree!! Olaf is such a loving character, who wouldn’t fall in love with him 🥰 Recently, I got into Ponyo. My favorite character is Sosuke: even though his dad is a seaman, his mom is balancing house life and a caretaker’s job, plus having to look after a friend from the sea, he always looks at the positive side. He is hopeful - even if things are disastrous he always pushes on and keeps smiling :) This movie made me smile so much - most especially in a time like this, I look to sosuke so i can continue having hope and moving forward. :)
