Positivity and The Power of Choice.
Hey lovely people! Today we'll be discussing a really interesting topic that is Positivity and the Power of Choice. "The greatest power that a person possesses is the power to choose."
We often find ourselves victims of negativity and sometimes it never seems to leave! Do you think these circumstances can change? In all honesty, yes it can. You all might have heard about "glass half full or half empty" and how it shows how you perceive things. There isn't a right answer because it totally depends on how you choose to view it. A shift in perspective can do wonders!
Last time we discussed Acceptance and it was lovely reading your answers. Our topic for today is a bit similar to that. We talked about how accepting things can lead to happiness. It might be cool to see if having the power to choose is our superpower and if it can help to have a positive attitude. Acceptance and choice do have some connection that can be hard to notice at first. I mean, at one place we're talking about accepting things and the other we're talking about the power to choose. How can they both be related if it seems an either or situation? The thing is your power to choose defines if you can truly accept thing in the face of adversity. Often times we get various choices - to either accept things or do something about them. It's okay if you cannot decide what would work the best, just knowing that the power of choice rests in your hand is more than enough! A single different choice can lead to an entirely different consequence. Even when things get the hardest and things feel impossible, you have the power of choice. Although the choices won't be clear at first. They'll soon become visible when you accept your situation and start to work upon what can be changed to have a different result. There is always another choice, no matter what the situation.
Here are a few ways you can approach this -
1. Be open to change. You might have to change a lot of things for a single result, but luckily you also have the power to choose whether the result is worth all these changes.
2. Evaluate. What are you feeling? Can you identify why you feel this and what may be causing it? Is what is going on inside and around really as bad as you may be thinking or is it the way you are allowing yourself to see it?
3. Realize the difference between complaining about something and constructively sorting out a problem.
4. Write down things around you that you appreciate. It could be trees dancing, the warm breeze, the beautiful snow, your family, your friends, 7 Cups, basically anything!
5. Wake up and choose to have a good day. Accept what may go wrong but work through it.
6. Consciously replace your thoughts. Whenever you catch yourself thinking negative thoughts, make a conscious effort to replace it with a positive one. In fact, you can make it a habit that every time you think something negative about a person, situation, or challenge, you HAVE to think two or three positive ones. Within no time, it will become a habit!
7. Take control of your life. Instead of complaining when you find yourself in negative situations, take control and dont allow it to happen. Make a conscious choice of whether or not you will do something, and stop being a victim in your own life. Start thinking about your choices.
What are your thoughts about having the power to choose?
Is there any topic you'd like to have a discussion about? If yes, feel free to add what more you'd like to see in this sub-forum!

So it's like focus on the positive and what you can change, right? That's good. =)
