Hello,
I am feeling alright. Just trying to better understand and sort through all of the negative feelings I've been going through during this quarantine so I can work towards feeling better. I'm trying to be more kind to myself and allowing myself to feel whatever I am feeling, but it's hard to not feel guilty about stuff that I feel shouldn't bother me. And it's hard to know what it will take for me to actually start feeling like myself again.
Any time I rant on social media or here on 7 Cups, I am grateful to always receive the gift of people's advice, support, and time. My close friends, and even complete strangers on here, have offered me such kind words throughout this tough year, and I appreciate receiving that gift when I need it most. :)
@SavoyTruffle20
Savoy, seems like you have been going through some difficult time managing your emotions but I am very glad to know you're putting so much effort to understand, work towards your emotions, and to take care of yourself. *Hugs*
Very happy to know that you're having a wonderful support system and I love your attitude of being so grateful and appreciative.
I hope things get better for you dear and we are all here to support you. Stay Strong!
Here is some love and positivity from all of us for you, Savoy!

1) How are you doing today?
I am doing quite well today, I've become so blessed and grateful. I truly feel my happiness radiating.
2) Can you think of any non-physical gifts youve received recently? (such as someones time, attention, understanding, or support) Let us know below, in this thread!
Some non-physical gifts I've received recently would be my fiance giving me lots of quality time and support. I have also received lots of support from family and friends.
@HelpfulStarlight01
I'm feeling capable today, ready to be open and responsive to the demands of daily life.
Non-physical gifts: My husband made spaghetti when I said I was too tired to cook the other day. Being well-fed and supported unconditionally is likely why my energy is back up now. I'm so grateful to him for taking care of me when I need it.
@calypteanna
Caly, so glad to see you being so brave, accepting, and motivated in your life! Very wonderful to know that you and your partner love, support and take care of each other so well. Stay Hopeful!
Here is some love and positivity from all of us for you, Caring!
Hello! I'm doing pretty well lately, and I'm feeling encouraged by all of the support available around here. I'm grateful for the gifts I've been given this week of my husband's time and assistance with things I needed his help figuring out, and my mom and I just worked all evening on personalizing a new harp! She was a huge help, and that's definitely a gift.
1) How are you doing today?
I'm not doing so well this morning but I want to turn the day around. How does one maintain positivity when they're grieving? I've been trying but it's forced so it feels fake. Does it all add up in the long run even if I can't feel it now?
2) Can you think of any non-physical gifts youve received recently? (such as someones time, attention, understanding, or support)
A friend recently has been coming to me for support which I appreciate because sometimes I feel talked down to in friendships with older people. I don't know how to support her right now but I appreciate that she even came to me. Treated me as equal. I also spoke to a hotline counselor who gave me a prompt to journal when I feel stuck in my memories/ rumination/ grief. This person really cared and wasn't giving me scripted answers (which I understand are scripted for a reason). That was helpful even though I haven't been able to let loose completely in my journal
@Lexloveslife
Grief is a hard thing to work through, and when I was having trouble with it I found it easy to be impatient with my progress. Journaling helped me a LOT, as did doodling when I felt unsettled and couldn't focus. Any kind of art is theraputic, whatever appeals to us! Music helped my mom a lot. And I always found it easier to think and feel better when listening to something that uplifted my mood.
@LadyDair
Thank you for sharing you & your mom's experiences and for the suggestions
@Lexloveslife
Lex, so sorry to hear that you have been going through so much. *Hugs*
It must be very hard to feel these emotions, I hope you remember that your feelings are valid, and you're much stronger than you think you are!
Relieved to know that your friend and the counselor are doing their best to support you. I hope things get better for you and please remember that we are all here to support you. Stay Strong dear!
Here is some love and positivity from all of us for you, Lex!
Hi! @HelpfulStarlight01
I have got 2 questions for you today:
1) How are you doing today?
I feel okay, I'm very grateful I can listen and empathize with some people. I take care of myself unconditionally and all of my needs are being met, just still feel a little hurt because I lose someone special but other than that I'm okay
2) Can you think of any non-physical gifts youve received recently? (such as someones time, attention, understanding, or support) Let us know below, in this thread!
My mother's love and someone appreciation words to me, it gives me hope for this bitter-sweet life.
@HelpfulStarlight01 Hi! I am doing better today than yesterday. I am trying to just focus on today and not think about tomorrow or the future. Though, sometimes, i'll remember the failures and the what-ifs and i'll feel my chest tighten and my heart race. Work in progress still.
I am grateful that I saw my dad today. We had lunch and spent a few hours today. No hugs :(
@nania721
It's great that you're able to find positives, even though you're having a hard time. I found this great "TED Talk" about finding happiness, wherever you are in life. I thought that it was a very helpful and unique talk about how our brain works and what we can do. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9DtcSCFwDdw <3
@LadyDair. Thank you for sharing the TED talk! I will certainly watch it.
@nania721
So, glad to know you're being brave, doing better, and doing your best to live in the present moment, Nania!!
Very happy to know that you spent quality time with your dad! We all care for you dear. Stay Focused and Hopeful!! *Hugs*
Here is some love and positivity from all of us for you, Nania!
