If you are weathering a rough mental health season, it is easy to feel like you may be stuck or falling behind. You might feel behind in your healing or feel like your struggles have delayed your career, relationships, or personal goals. It is a frustrating place to be, as many of us here understand!

Rest assured, you are not falling behind. You are just carrying a different load and walking a different path. Taking the time you need to figure things out does not mean you are losing ground.

Mental health recovery is not a straight line, and there is no schedule you are supposed to be on, or any one right way to do it. You are allowed to move at the pace you need. If you are feeling discouraged about where you are today, feel free to share your thoughts below. We are here to listen. <3

I wish someone told me those when I was really struggling. I know that this post will help people who need it. Thanks for writing it.🩵

@Heather225 — I feel like I'm behind bc of my age. I had to be taught a lot more things by most which is why I am out here later but I'm out here. "Free at last, free at last — thank God Almighty I'm free at last" — I'm not funny healed but I'm in progress and learning every day about ME bc I never had that chance as a child until now.

i can fully relate but remember healing a journey  in it self  there no time limited  and no speed one has to heal at either but also see you as brave  due to your doing hard work learning things as adult when should have been taught  as a child so way to go proud of you

Thank you for sharing this reminder. I think it is easy to compare our lives to those of others and feel as though we are not moving fast enough. In reality, each person is navigating different circumstances, challenges, and responsibilities that may not be visible from the outside.

What resonated with me most is the idea that growth is not always obvious. Sometimes progress looks like healing, learning, resting, or simply continuing to move forward despite uncertainty. These things may not always be recognized as achievements, but they are meaningful forms of growth nonetheless.

I am learning that life is not a race with a universal timeline. There are seasons for striving, seasons for reflection, and seasons for recovery. Looking back, some of the periods that felt the slowest or most uncertain ultimately taught me the most about resilience, patience, and self-understanding.

This post is a valuable reminder that our worth is not determined by how quickly we reach milestones, but by how we continue showing up for ourselves along the way.

Thank you for sharing such an encouraging perspective.

I hate the feeling that my life is passing and I'm not making the most of it. I've only got a limited amount and it feels so short.

I've had a miserable year of grief, which I'm told only time will heel. But I don't want to wait for time to give me my life back. Because there's not a lot to waste.

I know this isn't a terribly healthy way to think. But sometimes I just need to rant about how unfair it is, before picking myself up and carrying on.

Thanks for listening.
