Self-Love Journey

From my perspective, self-love is a journey rather than a destination, but I tend to not see an endpoint with many things in life. (weight loss, recovery, etc.) It can be a balancing act for me to find moments for self-love and continue to meet people’s expectations and personal responsibilities. However, I believe a person can slowly work their way back to self-love and self-expression even during busy times. 🌸

I’ve often felt cheated for not having time for myself, which has led to depression, anxiety, and compulsive over-thinking. This is one area that I struggle with the most: the demands of life and people trying to take the precious little time that I have. If you have limited time, I think it’s important to protect that time. It’s ok to say no or change your plans if you need time for self-care and relaxation. As I get older, I find that I need more time to myself, which tends to irk people. 😆

Self-love for me looks like: reading, taking a walk, enjoying the silence, playing chess or a board game, painting my toenails, watching a movie, meal planning, travel (when possible). For me, just getting outside of my head (and putting my needs first) for a while is the greatest form of self-love and self-care. 🌸

Quite amazing to see your self-reflection on an important topic like self-love, @Olive1Q82, It really is a balancing act hehe, so great to hear about various activities that make you feel good about yourself, valuing our own time and needs is an act of self-love too, yes. ❤ Hope your journey in self love is filled with lots of compassion and warmth.
