FORUM HUNT: YOUR

My therapist showed me this video the other day and I realized how good I am at staying miserable. What about you?

What the video here!

What are your thoughts?

@InvaderStitch The first bit shows why being so sick feels so horrible. Besides the symptoms themselves, there's the need to rest/stay in, the way some things pop up can make it impossible to keep a sleep schedule (HELLO numerous 1 am bathroom trips and getting released from the emergency room at 5 am and having a specialists appointment that goes from 9 am - 3 pm and the need to pick up meds and somehow fitting in all that sleep that a sick person needs). Sometimes reading is too hard when ill so screen time is at least something. It's often also the only way to connect with some others.

Ugh if that's the video I saw already then...yeah it just assumes everyone has the freedom to get out of the house and shit. The ability, the talent to have real life experiences.

It doesn't apply to someone like me, all it does is tell me what I already know.

I am sure there are circumstances and persons this might not apply to but I found it helpful.

Reverse psychology - who knew it was actually an easy way to understand things?

And if you can't go outside yet you can still start where you are. Pick one. Open the blinds or work on developing a consistent sleep cycle, clean something for 15 mins etc.

There are ways out. And if none of the above examples seem fathomable (or for help with reaching these goals) please seek the counsel of a counselor or doctor.

Interesting how I am not doing these things anymore and still feel miserable part of the time, I'm the odd one out. I used to not leave the house, but now I do even if it's hard and a bit expensive - just to get 'out'. I set reachable goals - I have a plan and mini goals along the way, rather than one massive one. Yes, I spend most of my time behind a screen but what you gonna do when you got no friends? It's either sit in silence and ponder about the meaning of life, or watch tv/be on computer and get some relative sense of socializing.

It's not like I am doing everything 100% right, that's impossible but I am doing most of it. *sigh* I guess I just have to wait for my mental health to get the memo. If the memo didn't get lost

@givemecoffee

dont give up. Hoping things equal out soon, at least eventually.

If not, please be proactive in finding out why. I think you can do this. :)

Best wishes
