When you were young what did you want to be when you grew up?
In our youth, as kids, we all wanted to be something when we grew up; whether it was a vet, astronaut, nurse, or firefighter. What did you want to be when you grew up? 😊 Is it different from what you want to be right now?
@KatieTheBigRockOne
When I was a young boy, I wanted to be an astronaut when I grew up. I had all these space books and space lego. The closest I got was getting my glider pilot's license when I was 17 with the Royal Canadian Air Cadets.
However, many years later, I befriended this Canadian astronaut-in-training from our church in Canada. He always inspires me to reach for the stars.
God bless,

@Swordpsalm Thankyou for this reply! That's an incredibly interesting thing to want to be, I can imagine as a young boy being an astronaut was a very intriguing interest, from the sound of it you got to explore that and enjoy it :). Having seen air cadets, the skill to fly is an admirable one, it's wonderful you got that close to what you had hoped as a young one.
It seems space still continues to make it into your life, especially after befriending at astronaut in training, may he be doing well in that and may you be doing well where you are in life and in all you are pursuing, always reach for the stars :)

Thanks Katie.

I recall saying when I was a child that I wanted to be able to change into any form, fly, have invisibility at will and speak to animals.
At the age of 11 that tuned to wanting to cure death, ignorance and cancer.
As a teenager I wanted to be a lawyer, interior designer and race car driver. I wanted to Ben liked.
In my 20’s I had no idea what I wanted.
Now, I want to know without a doubt or delay or disconnect of any kind that I’m everything I already ever wanted to be - healthy, wealthy and happy. Free. Abundant. Natural. Calm. At ease. Full of self esteem and kindness. Patient. Loving. Gentle. To see small steps as success. Encouraging. Helpful. Successful. To treat each situation with positivity and constructive thought. To advance every day. To feel my health, wealth and happiness increase every day, every week and every month exponentially. To encourage myself every morning when I get up. To push myself with ease and love through every self sabotage and hard day.
That all else grows from the soil of my mind...!

@Dallady I took a lot of joy reading this this take on my post <3. It seems throughout your time you aimed to be many things; as a child fun imagination filled ambitions (I wanted to be able to talk to animals too!), As an older kid wanting to do such selfless things, and wanting to go into more careers as you aged more. It's a lot, from it all I can imagine you are a driven and depthful person :)
I'm glad outside of all of that you have found yourself and what you value. Being here in health and happiness can be more fulfilling than many jobs, peace with yourself is incredibly valuable, I hope you take your current mindset with you, it's genuinely so nice to see
A writer
@peacefulpisces becoming a writer is definitely an interesting ambition to have had, writing can create whole new worlds and explore just about everything, it's a wonderful thing to have wanted to be. I hope you've found a way to continue expressing that creativity 😊
I wanted to be a vet or an actress, but that has changed I’ve the years 😂
@tallTiger8109 a vet or actress are quite interesting things to want to have been :), I can definitely understand the change over the years though. How do you feel those ambitions have changed now for you?
Well I think the reason the changed is because I have gotten older and I have different cool paths. Also because of all those tv shows I watch lol 😂
@tallTiger8109 that's definitely relatable xD characters and shows are great influences, hopefully you're enjoying what you're doing now!
I actually am. And I hope you are enjoying what you are doing now too :)
@KatieTheBigRockOne
I wanted to be an author as a kid because I really liked reading books 😺
@CherryBlossom012 That's very sweet, reading and loving books especially as a child is a great thing, wanting to do more with that is very understandable:) Hopefully now you still have a fondness of books and love for reading 📔📕
Yes I do, I write a lot but I struggle to keep a consistent writing 😅
@CherryBlossom012 As an avid reader I am definitely in awe at the dedication it takes to keep at writing, motivation is tough to keep up but it's amazing to see the work produced. Hopefully you keep that up :0
@KatieTheBigRockOne thank you I will try my best! ❤️
@KatieTheBigRockOne
i wanted to be a nurse, now i want to be a teacher
@imagineBeingHappy143 Both are very caring careers :) I know in teaching there's a lot of diversity so a lot of room to explore, grow and hopefully help a lot of people

Thank you so much <3
Hi Katie,
I wanted to be a veterinarian, and it was that that kept me getting really good grades so I could get into college and then vet school. It was great to have a purpose and a direction, through all the confusion of teen years. By the time I was old enough and had even gotten the Bio Sci degree, I had changed course, so I never did become a vet. However, all of the elements of my childhood love of animals are still with me: I currently share my life with 6 dogs, 3 cats, 6 parakeets, and 2 rabbits. I've found it helpful to find ways to incorporate things that I loved as a child into my life now. Thanks for the question.
@AlbiniaZ it seems you have a lot of care and devotion to give, I can really see how having that ambition would have powered you through school and encouraged you to give it your best. Hopefully changing courses was a great move :) often we find other things along the way and that's just as good, it's wonderful to hear you've kept your love going in your own animals, I bet they're well taken care of 🤗
Thankyou so much for this answer :))
