Hi everyone, I hope you are well. We often hear these two words ‘Grief’ and ‘mourning’ used quite similarly. What do you think is the difference between both if any!

@Hope This is a great question. So, when I use the word mourning I use it in a way to show the state me and others are in after experiencing a loss. I don't know how to really explain it because it's a process we go through to prepare ourselves emotionally. When I use the word grieving it's based on my actual emotions and feelings I feel because a loss. And that loss is not always just because of losing a loved one to death. So when I grieve, it's usually me feeling sad but sometimes angry too, truthfully. Hopefully this makes as much sense as I had it make in my brain. Lol.

@Hope Grieving is what you feel and think inside about the loss

Mourning is how we show our grief outwardly to others

I say mourning is that period immediately around the loss and grieving can be new or old loss. Idk

@Hope mourning is a time of the day😂😂😂 only joking🙂 mourning I think of as at the start of the grieving process. And grieving I think I'd the life long struggle, with dealing with life without them and keeping their memories alive ❤❤

@Hope

This is a great question

Mourning is the time period of the first stage to accept someone is gone most likely "dead" which in England for a royals 👑 death is a week but that depends on who is mouning the lose for me it's a month

Greif is the concept of a void that has passed away I have had both of these I am still grieving my dad from 2019 who had a stroke and passed away from it and greif won't go away while it's hard to cope with

So the answer is mourning is a time period for you to accept the lose while greif will stay with your forever
