A Welcoming Message from Someone Who Truly Understands

Grief is something very unique to every individual. You had a unique relationship with the loved one. No two paths are alike but share core common features. I know it isn't always easy to discuss for many reasons. With all the confusing emotions there come things we're afraid to share because they wouldn't get it. I just really wanted to put it out there that as a listener my door is always open. I have a deep level of understanding and empathy to provide. My mother and best friend passed in April just 6 weeks after my aunt/second mom. I personally struggle with the effects of complicated grief to the extreme. But I have learned some useful things that I never would have got without my experience. My listener space is 100% confidential, judgement free, no pressuring, a place to share and say the things you've felt the need to keep private. I am not looking for personal support with this post. I just wanted it out there that here is a listener who really gets it to the extreme.

@ThoughtLight

Grief to me my experiences is like a Rollercoaster highs lows crash repeat gasping for air ....

Grief has made me feel like depression has no room to come out and play since it's in a blender with ptsd , anxiety & Grief.

Last night I lost another person and I think at this point I'm numb to pain of Grief tragedy and devastation..

I used to question why me... until I changed it to why not me.

12 people in counting , 11 in 2 years ....losses Grief the worse journey for me to heal and recover from.

Grief eats the cake for me.

I really appreciate this post so much...

@SummerKay2024 I'm still navigating my complicated grief learning things the hard was and it will never actually end. And that's ok. I'm very sorry you're experiencing another loss. The numbness you're feeling is normal and expected. It is one of your brains tools to protect you just like shock. Your brain induced the numbness in an effort to protect you from the agonizing emotions. There is no way of determining how long it will last so enjoy it. Those are very common questions one asks oneself in a situation like this. Everything you are feeling, and the thoughts are normal and very valid. A lack of any response would be the thing to actually worry about. You're in bereavement. Bereavement is the term for the period of grief and mourning following a loss. The awfulness of grief and mourning can be debilitating. But it is considered normal and expected. So, it is nothing wrong with you and these reactions, thoughts and feelings are a good mental sign. Certain strict criteria must be met before it is officially a problem for the mental health care perspective. Finding some way of expressing these things that orally are hard to do can really help. For me it is writing. Just know though that you are not alone. If you hit a point of needing some help, feel free to message me.

@ThoughtLight

i hate that you had to experience some significant losses in your life.  I don’t ever want anyone to feel the pain of grief.  But it has made you stronger and given you valuable experience to help others.  I’m glad you are here and willing to share your experience.

@Kristynsmama what a waste it would be not to help another with things I've learned on my personal route with this beyond painful personal grief. Since it was mom I know the top is capped. It can never be quite this bad again. I will adjust and work around living forever with a broken heart.
