Cringe 😬
I've been wondering if cringe isn't a forgotten stage when it comes the grieving process.
My internet has been down for a month or two, and since it came back on yesterday, I've been playing catch-up. And it's been a cringe-fest.
Seeing how I was and what I wrote even a couple months ago makes me want to run and hide because it's so humiliating and upsetting. And it can be isolating and damaging.
That's why acceptance is so important. If I accept where I am right now, I can just live my life and not become judgemental, critical or exacerbate the situation, no matter how I feel. I can utilize discipline instead of drown in regret.
It can be hard to forgive myself for the past, and to sit in messy, uncomfortable feelings and emotions so they can fully process and pass. The nearly automatic response may be to fight against it. But by exercising my mind I become stronger when it comes to what I can control.
Having routines and rituals that support my well-being, choosing to be kind instead of right and setting and reinforcing healthy boundaries all contribute to managing any type of grief and loss, whether it's a person, place or thing, or any combination of the sort requiring whatever is needed to heal. Is super challenging.

Hey there,
First off, it's so awesome that you're reaching out and sharing what's on your mind. Life has its ups and downs, and catching up after a rough patch can be a bit cringy, but hey, we've all been there.
You're not alone in feeling a tad embarrassed about past moments. We're all human, and growth comes with a side of cringe sometimes. But guess what? That cringe is just a reminder of how far you've come. It's like looking at old photos and realizing you've blossomed into a stronger, wiser version of yourself.
Acceptance is like a warm hug for your soul. Embracing where you are now is like giving yourself permission to be perfectly imperfect. No need to run and hide – you're doing amazing, and you're not defined by your past.
Forgiving yourself can be tough, but remember, you're evolving. It's okay to sit in those messy feelings because that's where the real healing happens. You're like a superhero training your mind to be stronger and more resilient.
And girl, those routines and rituals you're setting up? That's self-love in action! Choosing kindness over being right and creating healthy boundaries – that's the secret sauce to navigating life's challenges.
You're on a journey, and every step counts. Don't be too hard on yourself; you're a masterpiece in progress. Keep shining, keep growing, and keep being the awesome human you are. 💖

first of all, I’m glad your internet is back!  In the early days after I lost my daughter, I was a babbling fool.  I never really cringed because I knew that my grief was real.  And I knew that it was ok to feel what I felt.  I’m glad no one here saw that side of me though.
