Grief

When a close friend, loved one, child or pet dies, I must include those who have suffered miscarriage and termination too; it comes as a huge shock to our system, and that shock produces many symptoms. It’s our way of shielding ourselves at such a vulnerable time. Most will cry, scream, or shout, others may say nothing and keep it locked inside, both are natural, but keeping these emotions inside can often produce symptoms later on.
Feeling numb of emotions is also a common symptom, death is overwhelming and just too much to cope with. Naturally we’ll feel very sad and for some, prolonged sadness and depression may require some extra support, so if you do experience this, please refer to a Bereavement Counsellor or Therapist. 7cups have many Listeners https://www.7cups.com/BrowseListeners/ and certainly,

Emotions cont:
It is not uncommon to feel anger towards the person who died asking yourself questions such as ‘Why have you left me alone’ ‘I hate you for doing this to me’. This occurs with close losses such as friends, family, partners, or pets, who have played an important role in our lives.
You’ll often feel tired and lack motivation to do anything, including simple things like showering, and certainly no thoughts of what you might do in the future. If this continues, please seek support.
We often experience guilt; perhaps harsh words were exchanged, or you feel you didn’t do something you should have or because they died and you’re alive!
These emotions will come and go, and you may find when you’re feeling more positive, they suddenly crop up from nowhere, it’s upsetting but it will lessen.
Finances can be a huge worry for many and trying to sort this out after a death can be horrendous. Some may not know where their next meal is coming from or if they will continue to have a roof over their heads, or employment, so grief has a huge impact on our lives. Friends
and colleagues can find it very difficult as they don’t know what to say, they haven’t the words, but that’s okay, a good friend will be pleased to
just sit with you and say nothing unless you want too. Try and accept offers of
help, shopping, cleaning and even child sitting, it all helps and it’s good to have
others around, and if you have a pet, they are a blessing for you at this time.
It's after the funeral that it when it hits us! Everyone has disappeared and you’re feeling utter despair; now is the time you'll probably want to be alone to think about loved one and all that's happened. This period may well last sometime, just take your time and when and only when, you're ready, you may want to return to something familiar to you. Remember, take your time and don't be in a rush to change things, and never make important decisions at this time.
Distraction is honestly the best way of coping in my opinion, keeping your mind busy but allowing time to grieve is important. Volunteering is a great way to channel your grief; help others and you’ll feel the benefit, become a Listener on 7Cups, you won’t regret it!
Make a Memory Box, decorate it, fill it with photos, knick knacks, birthday cards, even jewellery etc that remind you of your loved. Keep it close, that helps, and allow yourself time initially each day when you can reflect.

Aww thankyou for this comforting read, y'all. ❤ Something Here (clickable) for everyone coming across too.
Sending comfy hugs to everyone okay with hugs. 🤗

Hugs to you too ❤️
Before my son died last February, I found this picture... It looks so much like his silhouette... how I remember him before he started to loose all his weight. From the many conversations that we shared before he passe...this picture symbolizes what I felt his journey was, passing on from this life...

I'm doing a lot better now, but I will always miss him...will always wish I could have done more, been there more for him...

@EmbStitcher33 ❤️
Thank you so much for sharing your sadness with us. I feel you have shared exactly what is in your heart and I send you love & comfort. I must confess, the photo touched me profoundly, I will never forget it.

Hugs. That picture says a lot, without words
Oops, forgot to tag @emstitcher33
Can I assume your username means you embroider? I sometimes use cross-stitch as a way of processing difficult emotions... The process of planning it out & sewing it is what really helps, and I usually give away the final piece. Here is the start of one I made for my mother, in memory of my brother... I made a border with his name and images of things that were meaningful to him.

Any ideas why the photo won't load?
Hi! This is Summer. You can either add the picture through the app or paste it on the desktop. If you’re not able to do either, please send an imgur link. Hope this helps!
@SolaceTea
I use to cross stitch a lot. Still have some unfinished projects laying around...lol.
My passion now is machine embroidery. I have a hobby thread where I'm posting my stitch-outs. Would love to see some of your projects.
Make sure your picture is under 5MB.
Arg. Tagged it wrong. @embstitcher33
Also photo didn't load. Trying again.
Thank you for opening your heart ❤️ May he rest in peace
