Grief and Loss Support Check-in

26 July ~ 2 August 2025

Hello, lovely grief and loss support community! Welcome to our weekly check-in.

How are we all doing? I hope that the week is being gentle to you and you find time to take care of yourselves.

We are wrapping up the month of july, Crazy how this month has gone by. I hope you all know how much you are loved and cared about. You are seen and heard, I think that many people place the expectations about grief that it should be done privately and that if time has passed its something you should no longer be affected so deeply by, but even years later, it is woven into everyday experiences and conversations, it does not leave. And it's okie if you are still struggling.

Grief it gets to exist everywhere. All the time. In all the ways.

Maybe it's quiet - taking the long way to avoid your old shared apartment.

Maybe it's casual - mentioning to a coworker why you don't celebrate certain holidays anymore.

Maybe it's private - holding onto that wedding ring

Your grief doesn't need to be a big production to be real. It can be watching your persons favorite movie Or changing your running route to pass by the house you had to sell. Or keeping that family photo on your desk even though you're not speaking right now.

Because grief - all types of grief - isn't just about the moments of breaking down (though those are totally valid too). It's about making space for your loss in your everyday life - however that looks for you.

 Whatever you are feeling, it's welcomed and valid here. You are worthy and deserving of support. I am always here for you and you are not alone. Please reach out if you need anything at all, You are loved and cared about truly. I wish you all an amazing week ahead. <3

@CaringEzra The image of the words at the bottom just touched my heart and made me tingle, because I can relate to those emotions and feelings all too well. I have a sibling I lost to s____ years ago and it's a different type of pain I've never felt. I went through the phase of crying at his name or the thought of him to not crying at all... then to the point where I could live life without him... but guilt would creep in. I had to assure myself that having happy days and laughing and smiling doesn't mean I don't love him or don't miss him... it just means that I choose to keep going forward with life. It means I choose healing and that's ok! Thank you for al you do for the grief and loss community, Ezra! I appreciate all you do here! ♡☆

@YourCaringConfidant

thanks for joining our checkin this week dessireee, appreciate all you do for cups

I can relate alot to what you wrote, I lost my dad similarly, and there is a layer to that grief that is unlike.

our grief changes and evolves as time passes, but that in no way changes our love, or how badly we miss them. I agree its okie to heal.

here for you always 🫶

@Tinywhisper11

lol that would be so cool to have that in mansion

hugs lola if kk, birthdays can be so tough, with so many emotions and thoughts and stuff to work through. it can be quite overwhelming. I think that its okie to struggle, to have a hard time, for this day to not be easy nor are the days leading up to or after. this is not normal thing to have to go through, and its not something to have expectations on how you should feel or how you should act. the feelings that you are having are vaild and real, and sometimes its okie to not be kk, even tho it does suck, theree is no right or wrong way to journey through this. you are not alone in this, know we are siting right beside you, 🫶

(happy birthday Joshua) (what did you decide for his present? (no pressure to answer))

@CaringEzra

Thank you for your kind words 💜💕

The hardest feeling is being haunted by questions, not having closure, the what ifs, the nights are hardest when you dream they are still alive and you wake up in the morning and you have to relive that pain all over again, but your dreams still allow you to be back at a time when you had that person in your life 🥺
