death anniversary
hello! today marks a month since my grandpa passed. he was very dear to me and i was his favorite grandchild. can anyone offer words of advice or comfort? im not quite sure how to navigate days like today
@sweetsummerday I'm so sorry for your loss. Is there something you can do to honor his memory? Maybe you could plant a flower or a tree in honor of him? Or enjoy some of his favorite foods and watch a favorite movie of his? Or maybe you could share some stories of him with family? Or you could sit some place quiet and talk with him. You can do what ever brings you comfort during these hard times 💙
@sweetsummerday In 1968 lost an aunt, 1993, my mom 2007 my ex and 2020 my common law husband. Of all the people I have lost the 2 that are most in my memory is my mom and my common law husband however of these 2 my common law husband has been the hardest. I did go through a very severe depression after losing my mom but I didnt handle it like I have my husband. I still 5 years later mourn for him and cant get over not having him with me. It was hard seeing him in hospital suffering as he was from stage 4 lung cancer. That cancer is no joke. I talk About him daily and just cant let go nor can I accept he’s gone. We were to marry legally in December 2019 but I wanted to wait til he was more alert. He was so positive he would be coming home. Normally he had great confidence that certain things would work out and he usually was right so I waited. Tho his condition had not changed yet I was going to get things together on Jan. 3, 2020 but 4 hours before I was to go to city hall I received that dread call he was gone. It might be wrong but how I see it. We were together for several years prior to him leaving and the fact we were still partners before He left I view it as being Yes God called for him but we are still together just that he is now in another dimension and will continue being devoted to him and him alone. I hope that the day I take my last breath which despite my yearning for him wont happen for yet many more years I hope when that day comes he , God and my mom will be there to greet me and he will take me in his arms hold me and may God never separate us from each other again.
@eternalHero77 I'm so sorry for your losses. Cancer is such a brutal disease. It's so horrible watching it steal from people's lives
@mytwistedsoul Thank you. Thing too no I would never want anyone to go through witnessing a loved one die due to cancer or anyone dying for any reason. The one thing tho with my husband he had such courage and strength He never gave up hope and stayed strong til the end regardless of how weak he was getting. His main concern was getting out of the hospital and return back to me. I hope when my day does come that I can show as much strength, bravery and courage as he did. I never seen anyone in my display as much strength and desire to live as him. I would undoubtedly sunk into a bad depression and who knows might have complained til the very end but seeing how he was I hope seeing his strength I can be the same.
@eternalHero77 I know I wish I had never witnessed it and I agree, it's not something I would want anyone else to go through either.
Over all he along with the therapists I had in day program and a few others are readings behind who I am today and along with who I wanted to be. That being said this man is the first one ever who never raised his hand at me and showed me what real true love should feel like and look like when giving to yourself and others. He may be in another dimension but as far as I’m concerned we are still a couple just that it’s lived out differently now till we are reunited one day.
I am sorry you’re going through this, i understand my dad lived with my and march 25 2025 he committed suicide and I found him. Father’s Day was very difficult and his birthday is coming up on the July 24 . Im still trying to learn how to cope myself . Hoping it will get better , people say in time it will get better . I’m so sorry you’re going through this.xoxo
