You now receive 1 cheer for every 50 messages you sendin Group Support Chats.
50 messages also counts for 1 Group Support Chat, as shown in your Listener Profile.
We have also given every single person200 Appreciation hearts today!!!These will beconstantly replenished,so please spread the love freely and generously!

I like the changes. Also, thanks for the hearts =)
Appreciated 200 times just for being moi? I feel special ;)
Great idea with the hearts! I was running really low and had to ration my heart-giving even if I wanted to give some. This takes off a lot of stress. :)
Oh wow! Love it!
Endless supply of hearts?! YES PLEASE!
Yeah this is aweosme!!
Awww you are so cute :)
1 Cheer for 50 messages!
To be honest I am like still digesting this idea, 50 messages means one hour or so depending on the lengthand speed of a chat room. Do you think anyone would be willing to spend one hour or writing 50 messagesfor 1 cheer?
Rest about the heart thing, do our members get to see how many hearts do i have? Would they prefer talking to me because I have more hearts or Cheers? Does that make any difference to them if I have more 300 hearts?
I agree Angelline.. 1 cheer is nothing compared to 50 messages.
Also, I guess it means other listeners that aren't signed up for a shift can get cheers now for messaging or maybe even spamming the group support chats?
I think that would mean more listeners are joining the chat which most likely will overwhelm the members.
At the end of the day, I find 1 cheer *way too less* for 50 messages. If we get rewarded for helping people in group support chats, then I think it could be a fair amount. As we signed up for the hour shifts, we got 12 cheers, which was pretty okay but one cheer.. for that.. is ridiculously low in my opinion.
Also, I understand that this makes the support chats more active but like I said, one cheer is ridiculously low.
Christine! (Also, I guess it means other listeners that aren't signed up for a shift can get cheers now for messaging or maybe even spamming the group support chats?)
The answer to this question is, the group support rooms are going to be chaotic and disordered if people are going to be there in order to get 1 cheer for 50 messages. I am just wondering about those who are just contributing and helping in the roomsand don't write 50 messages so they get nothing.
I personally get to have feedbacks on daily basis specifically from new listeners on how to get cheers and all. Most of them care about cheers more than anything.
Yet again I am still trying to understand how is this thing going to go and work. And yes I agree with you Christine! It's way too less for the efforts we make in the group support. It's like dealing with 10 people at one time. But let's see :)
Exactly, in the beginning, all that matters are cheers so I totally get what you mean.
I love that there are cheers for engaging in the group chats as a Listener, but I think there are some concerns that this raises for me.
1. More listeners may converge on the chatrooms, seeing them as a way to engage without putting in a lot of work (for example, seeking support from their listener accounts, playing in the waiting room). This is a problem because it can be pretty overwhelming for members to see a large number of Listeners, and of course it brings to light a second concern...
2. Listeners using their Listener account inappropriately in the chatrooms. Listeners need to be made more aware that unless they're actively guiding the chatroom/engaging as a moderator (or acting in similarly supportive ways such as when actual moderators are not available), the chatrooms should be used primarily for members/guests to get support. Sometimes I go in and the chatroom is full of Listeners with only one or two members, and sometimes Listeners are dominating the chat so much that members can't even get a word or two in around them.
3. Moderating the chatrooms takes a huge toll. There's a lot of pressure to perform and perform well, and people don't always take moderator actions well/appropriately. Also, some rooms are easier/less difficult than others -- the waiting room, for instance, is pretty easy to keep on topic and running smoothly. Rooms like Share Your Story & Compassion Corner can quickly get out of hand if nobody's watching. The current 1 cheer per 50 messages rate really doesn't take this into account or compensate for it at all, in any of the rooms.
Please don't think I'm just trying to rain on anyone's parade. I think the chatrooms are coming together really well, and I appreciate that you guys are working really hard to tweak things and get the chatrooms working perfectly. These are just some things that I've noticed/have concerns about!
