We need your feedback !Would you prefer badges to show where people are able to moderate?
As most of you are aware recently community centered moderation has been introduced to our community for moderating the forums and the chatrooms. Which means that anyone that has applied for moderation position or has opted to is focused on between one and three Subcommunities.
As a group mod this means that you only have mod powers in the rooms associated with those subcommunities e.g Anxiety you can only moderate anxiety support. We currently have badges that show up in the rooms to indicate if you lead discussions in these rooms.
Community centered moderation has brought up the discussion whether the badges e.g Anxiety Support Team badge should indicate that you lead support sessions or whether it should change and indicate that you can moderate that room.
Were asking for your feedback: Would you prefer badges to show where people lead support sessions or where they are able to moderate?

Badges are a good idea because the discussions get crowded and it's hard to tell who is leading.
A lot of times I have to scroll back to find the current question and they frequently get buried in all of the answers.
Also, often members ask questions and it's hard to tell if a Mod is asking the question or if it is something off topic.
I personally feel it'd be best to limit the team badges to discussion hosts to emphasize their weekly dedication to that community. However, I do think a well compromise would be to allow the Mod badge to show in the rooms that they're able to moderate

I think maybe you could have a seperate badge for Anxiety Support mod vs. Anxiety Support Team ror example.
I thibk Global mods should have a global mod badge.

Whose going to monitor the 'community centered moderation' (fairness & equitableness)?
Some Mods have taken positions as Mods to target and remove a single member from the chatrooms; they are on a mission;
'Community centered moderation is a great idea.
I prefer small support group with guiding one that makes me i have a family here on the website and allowing us to active and continous followup....like regular meetings.

I am wondering if anyone on the team should have the badge show up? There are more than just support session leaders for community leaders.
For moderation, I think it's important to have the separate mod badge, as it exists now. People don't need to be familiar with the positions on this site to have a good idea what a moderator is. I do think it would be nice for the community centred mods vs. global mods to have different moderator badges, sometimes people go into another room on the search for a mod, it's nice to quickly be able to identify who is a global mod. I think mod badges should only appear in the rooms that one can moderator.
