QAs

- Can we get things moved to the correct areas?

- Can members on the team be given editting access? They do on the forums so I don't understand why QAs is different. I have been trained but have been waiting for the badge for a long time.

@ASilentObserver I filled out the form for multiple QAs that are currently in the wrong area. This was done quite some time ago and they are still in the incorrect area.

@AffyAvo as of right now "no" to the editing badge for team mates. I am sorry. The badge has some errors in it and was to be worked on. As soon as I know the badge is fixed then YES team mates who have been trained can edit the answers to questions. But no team mates do not get to move the questions around.

@AffyAvo Hi Affy-"yes"!! But I am trying to gain some help from Cris as there is a bug in the links we have. When they are moved they do not stay there. Or the ones that have been sorted on the data sheet-they have codes so they can be moved in a group. So yes we are trying to get those all move plus many more. Please I know you have been very patient. Let me poke Cris a few more times and see if I can schedule a time to gain his support. But I know he is busy with the App now a days. Again thank you for being patient

Why don't 1 star ratings get included in a listener's rating? Is there a plan to have them included soon?

@AffyAvo We do consider all ratings and reviews Affy. Could you please tell me what made you feel that it is not included?

@ASilentObserver I have been messaging and emailing about the issue for a long time. Any 1 star rating that I give is not included. It's obvious for listeners that have only a few ratings. If there are no ratings at all, everything stays at 0. If they have 2 5 star ratings, they stay at 5 stars, with the 2 ratings and reviews.

@AffyAvo @ASilentObserver I would like to ditto this concern, here is an example to illustrate: as a member I've also had times when I have a bad experience with a new listener. They have 1 review that's 5 star rated, which also has a written review, so it's all in total one review and they're at 5 stars. I give them a 1 star written review and out of curiosity keep checking their account over the next few days to see the change in their star rating. Soon enough, their account now shows 2 ratings, still only 1 written review, but still at 5 star rating. I'm assuming that new 1 review was my 1 star, but didn't impact the overall star rating of the listener? It could be they somehow got another 5 star within the same time of my review but...I have a feeling it was my review since they didn't have many chats (I wish I had paid attention to the chat count to be sure, but I didn't). Maybe just an example of what I think we're seeing happen, particularly with new listeners with few reviews.

Secondary suggestion to maybe feel like your reviews are being seen: on your member account you can see the history of published reviews you've given under your progress. This is only the positive reviews...why not make the negative/unpublished ones available here too? It might give some transparency to show the reviews are being seen and when they were looked at

@TaranWanderer I have had admin confirm too, they will check on the ratings/reviews I have given, confirm that they have been approved yet the ratings do not change for the listener. So it's not that it's an unknown issue.

I do like the idea of being able to see the reviews - good or bad - we gave for a listener, I think it would be nice to see our ratings as well.

Question: Some of the moderators and peer supports using slang and short texted abbreviations which is not against guidelines though but short texted abbreviations and slang are subjective in the nature and as we hail from different cultures and backgrounds I think community shall clarify upom the usage of short texts and slangs. Observer please take a note on my point. Especially in LSR and LCR slang and short texts shall be avoided.

@Onlyintellectuallistener Thank you for the thought, listener. I get it. I would suggest that if using, do share the meaning of full form for it. Or, another person could question what does that mean? so the person using it could explain them. It is important to clarify when you are communicating to avoid any misunderstanding and confusion.

Why isnt 35+ a permanent room? Its always been known to be one of the more stable/safe/mature rooms. Are we too old to fit into the target demographics for 7cups?

We are open to keep rooms open but it needs to be in usage and that is why we suggested that 35+ Room Supporter or Mods can open the room when they are around to support all. Tagging @Pamharley003 (Support Team Leader of 35+) to help us out on this. Thank you

In case of reporting situations or persons expressing they feel slighted, is the variation in personality types taken into account?

Example someone who is more emotional leaning might take it as a personal attack if something they say is questioned or shown to be misinformation. However, the other person might be more logically leaning who see things systematically vs personally. (terms used are only to express the idea and deeper explanation can be given)

In this case wouldn't it be unjust to fault the latter when no personal attack is made only on the subject matter?
I understand that 7Cups tend to focus on emotions and how a person feels about a matter but to me there can be flaws in this as in the case of discussions. Some persons expect their points to be openly questioned if they put it publicly and are fine when it occurs but others feel offended if their statement is challenged.

@Maximiliano

Just wanted to add perhaps it might help to clarify the difference between criticism of a topic/subject (which will tend to have facts to support it) vs 'bashing' an individual.
Some might not be aware of the difference between a healthy debate and a personal attack.

If POLITICAL CHAT IS NOT ALLOWED then why is Trump bashing a constant thing on here. Im not a DT supporter but if POLITICAL CHAT IS NOT ALLOWED then the mods need to stop the constant bashing more often. Also why is xenophobia against America and Americans allowed? (Its unsupportive and hurtful)

EXAMPLE: "Why is America (insert negative statement here)"

"Why are Americans (insert negative statement here)"

If mods dont want to control anti American sentiment, then shouldnt all countries and people be treated/trashed the same as America and Americans? https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/xenophobia

Sorry to hear it. We do not encourage any form of political chats and encouraged all to refrain it and being inclusive to all. If it is happening, you can report such situations to mod, fill the emergency form or report the user who doing it through this form: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSffQk1RhknozmquuEYiE_fZDp2ynNz-VB4XXBbRrrKmV57V5w/viewform

Hi Obs! What is the difference between a Support Team Leader and a Support Session Leader? I am trying to find resources on this but I can't, it would be really nice if you could give me a link to posts where the roles and their requirements are explained :)

Also, can a CML apply for any of them?

@sunflower2480 I'll let someone else answer with all the details, but the simple explanation is the team leader oversees the support session leaders. So the support session leaders will host the discussions, and the team leader will arrange scheduling, keep the calendar info for that SC up to date, organize the discussion questions, etc.

@sunflower2480 Hi Flower, Support session leader is the one who leads support sessions or discussions. While Support Team Leader is the leader of the specific support team (a group of support session leaders) to ensure all activities related to it run well.

And sure, a CML can be a STL, if they want to. Though it is good that someone from the team can step up and take the lead so all activities management not fall on single person but as a team it can get covered.
