Famliy issues
I have been keeping 7cups a secert from mum and famliy for monts because she doesnt like me talking to strangers. Im thinking about telling her about this but if tell her she might shout she has found out in past took she took phone .I'm not surposed to have this or internet but i hardly spend time with famliy anymore as need to be in room when on cups , I just wish she would understand im a adult can make my own decisions if tell her could loose all friends made here i dont want that to happen it just makes me sad how she doesnt trust me .i dont no what to do miss spending time with family

Thank you tas but I dont think i have emotional ability to tell her because she doesnt like me talking to strangers she is very strict i have made so many friends here would be really upset if loose them .
I think the best option is to just reduce time here so can spend time with family

I agree with you so much. Spending time with family is so precious and I'm so glad you've made this decision. Your friends on 7 cups will always be here. You are a very special person and many people here love to see you here and value your participation. However, computers are no substitute for our real lives in our families and communities, and our real relationships with our living and breathing family members. Balancing activities, sticking to our priorities, these are all attributes of a mature adult and I'm very happy to read that you will be engaging in more activities with your family.

I think it would be a good idea to approach your mom about finding a safe place for you to express yourself and how you've made friends. Maybe mentioning it's all anonymous will help her fear of online things. Tell her how you've been supporting others, how they support you, and how it's helped you. You shouldn't have to give up one for the other. I hope your mom understands and you can still be with us. I love you, Georgia. You're a great friend and I can't imagine 7cups without you!

Its nice to have you in the rooms and hope it gives you peace of mind to be here when needed.
Maybe you could set aside a goal of how much time you want to spend on 7 cups. Perhaps your mum is ok with bare minimum .
Maybe on one hand it’s a fear you may get spammed or used maybe it’s her protective side showing and even she may want you to not invest your complete energy online - we have a policy within 7 cups that if accounts are misused action is taken - any harassment from anyone isn’t acceptable ❤️
