One of the Best Ways to Help Yourself is to Help Others
As a volunteer and community helper in multiple programs, I realized that in times when I genuinely help people through difficult times in their lives I feel immense satisfaction and joy in being that source of comfort to people.
I realized perhaps one of the best ways we have in keeping our wellness emotionally is helping other people with theirs (physically or emotionally). In terms of biology, we're wired to be social. Helping others and bonding with people through service releases social 'feel good' hormones such as serotonin and dopamine which strengthen relational bonds and also regulate mood.
Biology aside, the feeling of being relied upon and helping others can bring satisfaction and meaning to many people's lives. For me personally, although I can be physically drained after a volunteer session I cannot help but feel emotionally content in being a small but significant force in promoting good in our world.

What do you think are some ways you have or could help make a difference in your community today?

Community service and volunteering to me is one of the most fulfilling things in the world, and it brings me a lot of happiness. I love connecting with people, making new friends and being there for them :)

Today I'll try to check up on some of my old members to make sure that they're okay and that I'm here to listen if they ever want to share anything 💓
Thanks for this #awesome post! 💕
@sunnyWriting4806 Love this post! I volunteer for an organization involved in youth development. The organization has been doing great things which I'm sure will better the community!
