Times of crisis? How to reinvent yourself?
In times of crisis, which of the groups would you fit in, those who lament for being in that situation and end up not taking any action to change the scenario, or are you from the group that reinvents and stands out during the crisis?
Moments of Crisis – Tip 1: Change of Mindset.
"Insanity is to keep doing the same thing over and over and expect different results." – Albert Einstein.
The first and sometimes the most difficult step is the decision to change. We are proud beings and find it difficult to assume that we are not perfect. Letting go of pride, admitting your weaknesses, and challenging yourself to do differently, regardless of your current conditions, will take you to the next step.
Take a few minutes to reflect and make a list of everything you would like to change in your life. Telling someone a story helps us get the ideas in order, so you can talk to someone you trust and feel comfortable sharing your ideas with, or you can do this by talking to yourself.
Moments of Crisis – Tip 2: Be a fan of Self-Awareness.
It sounds cliché, but have you ever stopped to reflect on the famous phrase “For those who don't know where they're going, any path will do.”? As important as knowing what we want is knowing what we don't want.
How are you going to identify the right time to change jobs, make a career transition, start a new business, hobby, or even start or end a relationship if you're not sure where you're going? Sometimes the automatic way we live our daily lives locks us into a life that doesn't complete us and we feel suffocated because we don't even know where to start.
A few simple techniques can help you start this delightful journey of looking inward and I assure you that the more you get to know yourself, the more you will want to do it.
Tip 1: Take a moment in your day to be silent and let your thoughts flow. Start with 5 minutes and increase as the days go by. You'll find that ideas that were loose until then will start to connect with other ideas and suddenly you'll have that “Eureka” moment. Who hasn't had such a moment while taking a shower? Because just without realizing it, we let our thoughts flow freely and they form connections with other thoughts.
Moments of Crisis – Tip 3: Define a Plan and Set Goals.
If you still don't have a clear goal and what you need to do to reach it, don't be discouraged, every day is a good day to start something new.
Use the SMART objective technique (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant and Temporal) or in other words, don't create unrealistic goals that will let you down in the process because you can't reach them and clearly define what you want and when.
Don't be afraid to review and modify them whenever necessary. What matters here is that you are clear on where you want to go and what you need to do to get there. It's like a road, you need to go through km 1, then km 2 and so on to reach the destination at Km 10.
A very common human mistake is to focus on the end result and not on the journey that will take you there. Start simple and increase complexity as you absorb more responsibility. Be careful not to sabotage yourself by overworking or procrastinating. Find the balance.
Times of Crisis – Tip 4: Keep Your Motivation.
Being motivated is not always a simple task. The anchors technique is often used as a mental trigger activating some emotion or thought. Using one or more senses (Vision, Hearing, Smell, Touch and Taste) as anchors is a great option for daily motivation.
A good example of a visual anchor is a dream map that constantly reminds you of your goals and objectives. It's simple to do: print images that make you feel good about your goals and goals and paste them in places you'll see several times throughout the day.
Another example now for auditioning is listening to everyday audios that remind you of how fulfilled you will feel when you reach your goal. A playlist with songs that motivate you, videos of people that inspire you on this subject, podcasts and audio books are great anchors.
There will be days when you will feel more motivated and others less. This is absolutely normal. Live one day after another and don't give up along the way. The key is to be constant. What can help a lot in these cases is setting daily or short term goals that will bring you important motivation pills to keep you on track.

This is true gem!
I love the title of this writing and how carefully you laid out a few tips and strategies for self-reinvention.
Personally I think the pandemic gave a good chance for me to step back and re-evaluate everything. At the end of the day, self-awareness is the key to success. This means I have had more time to understand better what I want and what I am capable of.
This writing also provides me a good reminder to be set SMART goals for the time ahead.
Thank you for your wonderful contribution to Healthy Living community.
