Barre?
Who has tried Barre? Is it worth the money? Any tips or info is helpful!
I tried it once, I found it was really difficult to modify to do it safely.
@AffyAvo good to know, thanks!
@Jill7cups That didn't give much info I guess - my issue was the high number of reps, repeatitive motions are a trigger and even with taking extra breaks I experienced symptoms that night. I recommend anyone going for the first time start with the lightest weigh option for each exercise, unless already doing a fair bit of exercise that is similar so a pretty good level of strength/endurance has been built up. If it ends up being too easy, it's just one class where the max benefit isn't achieved. I think it's also beneficial just to get the motion down properly when it's new before really adding in the challenge of getting close to muscle fatigue. Being able to lift a weight 30 times total (broken up into sets) vs. 100 is so different.

Its really "to each its own"... if that helps any..
Its one of those things that you have to "try" for yourself to see if you like it?... The studio where I teach Zumba and POUND have Barre. The instructor actually teaches "Booty Barre" so it mostly works your lower body (booty) and there are some light-weights incorporated as well.,..and repetition..
The ladies that do take it there seem to love it....
However, When I tried it for myself, While the workout was decent, I just found it to be too "slow" for me... In my opinion.. I like my workouts to be a little more "aggressive"? More cardio based... (If that makes sense)...
So once again that brings me back to my original response of "to each its own".. as its really about what you like and if its something you think you could continue to do or really if you find that its a good workout for you and (is it fun for you as well)... Me personally, I gotta have the "Fun Factor" in my workout to keep going back for more
@PoliteOcean so true. I'm in such a funk with fitness right now and a Barre is opening soon so I'm going to go try it out.
