Healthy Swaps
I am not a believer in depriving myself of delicious food, but I like to find healthy ingredient substitutes to eat the same things, but in a way that gives me more nourishment. I'll share a few of my favorites, but I would love to hear some of yours, too!
My absolute number one trick is greek yogurt! It's full of protein and is low fat, but can be substituted for all kinds of other dairy products, including mayo, sour cream, and if you are making a dip, cream cheese!
I'm also a cauliflower fiend and make all kinds of snack foods with it, including buffalo cauliflower and, recently, loaded cauliflower which is all the deliciousness loaded baked potatoes, but with the added health of cauliflower.
And I'm an absolute nut for spices and seasonings. I find that I need WAY less salt if I add in some garlic, cumin, or any other spice or herb.

Great Post ANO!... I like "Sea salt, Himalayan salt, (as these are healthier swaps of salt), but also Oganic Powders like "Garlic, Onion, Cumin, and Chili powders~ These are great ways to add great flavor to all dishes without all the "extra" you don't want... Of course, its not about deprivation but about "moderation"! Moderation in anything is key :)
I add nuts to my yogurt instead of granola. More protein and less sugar!!! :)
Maple syrup or honey instead of sugar when I bake.
I've also started making homemade condiments, like hot sauce and mayonnaise.
I also substitute poppy seeds for Chia seeds because the nutritional profile is very similar but poppy seeds are much less expensive.
