Are you sleeping okay?

Hey everyone,

I just wanted to make this post because I am concerned about how much sleep people are getting.

It really is important that everyone gets the right amount of sleep, because it plays a vital role in your physical health.

Teenagers should be getting between 9 and 9

@peppermintlove

Eh ? How much sleep ?
I guess it's around 6h a night during vacations and weekends... And, er, what, 3 or 4 when it's not vacations.
It depends. I don't sleep every night in the first place anyway~

Sleeping is very important for your health! Also who doesn't want to sleep?

There are so many helpful websites about what happens if you don't get enough sleep, here is one of them:

I sleep so much and I'm pretty much always tired.

Unfortunately I can't always sleep as much as I need to. One of the things that bothers me the most is when I need to stay up to monitor myself for swelling instead of sleeping.

@AffyAvo

Ah, it is important that you get enough sleep - also the quality of sleep is very important because you can sleep for ages and still be tired!

One of the things you can do to improve your sleep is making sure you are comfortable: usually a cool, dark quiet room is ideal for sleeping.

@peppermintlove

My sleep quality is pretty good. It's chronic illness that leaves me fatigued.

The only real sleep issue I hav, is the occasional bad nightmare waking me up

@ChromeLotus

One approach for dealing with nightmares is to express it through art - painting, composing music, creative writing, etc

@peppermintlove Hmm, that's a lot of sleep! I really didn't realize it was that much, I should definitely work on getting more now!

I'd say my sleep really does vary, but if I can't sleep I find that lying still or just resting my eyes and mind works as a bit of relief.

@Cloudysunset

It does seem like quite a lot doesn't it! One way of getting a good night's sleep is to stick to a sleep schedule - go to bed and get up at the same time everyday. I agree that lying still or just resting your eyes does work as a bit of relief, but if you just simply can't fall asleep then it is a good idea to get up and do something relaxing, and go back to bed when you feel sleepy.
