I've done really well with eating and exercising this week... got a little off track "Emotionally and Mentally" however.... Today is my "Rest Day". So I'm happy about that... Just having that Rest Day allows me to just focus on "me, and how I'm doing and feeling" without having to concentrate on meeting or making any goals for the day..... I do like to still get in my 10,000 steps on my rest day, and to get in my water, however, I dont "fixate" on it, and if it happens, it happens. If it doesn't, then thats ok too!...... We celebrated my husbands birthday lastnight, and I managed to stay on track even though he had so many treats. But I got to induldge in that a little today :) Hope everyone else is hanging in there and having a nice weekend
@PoliteOcean I'm glad you're doing so well! I agree that Rest Day is important b/c of self-care and all that. Good job staying on track! I was thinking about getting a steps counter and seeing how far I could go with it lol. Keep up the good work!
@PoliteOcean, it sounds like you've had a good week overall. However, my week has been a bit opposite of yours. I'm on track on the mental/emotional end and have not done so well on the eating/exercise side of things. LOL! Put us together and we have one really good week, right?
The rest day/day off is an important thing, in my opinion. And like you noted, we can still do the things we deem as basic (for example, walking/steps, water, appropriate sleep, etc...whatever it is for each of us individually) but just to accept whatever it is we manage to do on the rest/off day without any guilt. It's all good. I think this kind of day is a healthy thing for our mind and body. I wish I could remember where I've heard/read that it's even recommended to have these days. They're not an "anything and everything goes" sort of day, but a day to just focus on what you need or to just relax with family/friends and enjoy. Enjoy your day off.
*hugs*
@BridgetAileen
LOL....Yes, we'd be "Team Dynamite" if you put us together! lol
If I had to choose, I'd much rather stay on track emotionally/mentally then the other way around. I think thats a HUGE part of everything "falling in-line" is to be emotionally 'balanced'.....Rest is so very important to "all" of it as well. I look forward every week to those "Rest Days" .. It feels so good to not have to "think" about or "focus" on trying to do everything the "right way"... And yes, "WE" and "Our Bodies" need that rest day. Absolutely!...My goal was to at least get in my 10,000 steps. I think I made it to slightly "over" 5,000-steps for the entire day. And I was actually up and moving around the house yesterday. I was surprised I didn't get in more. But I didn't concern myself with it. I was satisfied. And mentally it felt sooooo good!
Thank you for your response and as always your awesome encouragement to me and to "everyone" in this community! **HUGS BACK**

Hello! I've been doing alright. I didn't eat as much junk this week lol. I'm going to start taking walks again once the weather is warmer (it's freezing right now!). Just going to do my best as far as making better choices when it comes to food and exercise. Wish me luck! 😊
@essdee
Thats great that you've been doing so well!... And I agree, it will be nice to get out and enjoy walks again. We aren't too far off from warmer spring weather! I wish you luck on keeping up the great work that you've been doing and staying on track, just do the best that "You" can do. Thats all we can do right?! You got this ![]()
@PoliteOcean Thank you for the encouragement! It's going to be tough at first, but I hope it will get easier.
@essdee, always remember that when you start back up again, it's quite fine to scale back and build back up. Keeping things realistic and manageable is key. Think of some small rewards you can do for yourself each day you take that walk...a luxurious bath, reading in a cozy chair with a cup of tea or other favorite beverage, or other enjoyable activity. Or keep track of your walks on the calendar with stars or stickers. Anything that motivates you and gives you a sense of accomplishment. (I need to follow my own advice, here, as far as walks and exercise goes...hehehehe. I know it works, but I've not been doing it lately.)
@essdee Well done and good luch Ess ♥♥♥
I was sick most of the week and didn't exercise at all until Friday when I did a little cardio. I ate pretty well overall. I took one day off work and spent most of it in bed to recharge and I think that helped me get well faster. I'm feeling good now, and getting ready to cook some lentil stew for next week. Tomorrow I plan to cook more. I am ready to get back to exercising also!
@SadMe70
Sorry to hear that Sad...its great that you are better and "recharged" again! No need to over-do anything. You've been doing a great job. Enjoy that stew!!
@SadMe70, I'm so glad you're feeling better. The lentil stew sounds delicious.
Thanks @BridgetAileen and @PoliteOcean! The stew is very tasty. I made a curry today to go into the freezer for another week.
@SadMe70
Yum! Curry! I need to visit you for dinner. hehehehe
@BridgetAileen Come on over!
@SadMe70, I'm climbing through the computer screen now. LOL!
i exercised way too much yesterday so i had some bad pain that was affecting my whole body, i couldn't move, so i needed painkillers...
reminder: don't overexercise. exercising is healthy, but it can also be unhealthy if you don't do it right.
but i'm eating well for couple days and i'm proud of myself. i resisted my urges to eat unhealthy. yay for me
Well, I've been doing really well on the mental/emotional part. On Jan. 23 when the emotional wellness test popped up on my growth path, I scored in the normal range for stress, anxiety, depression, and sadness. The last time I scored that well was in June. However, my eating and exercising have taken a "turn for the worse" during Janary.
So I have quite a bit of work to do in that regard. It'd be nice to have it all going well at the same time, right?
Ah, well, it gives me something to work towards.
Not to mention it's really easier to work on other goals when you're feeling better mentally and emotionally. So all's good.
I have been listening to hip hop music while reading a book.
I've been eating healthy this past week, but exercising not so much. So I'm going to try to work in more exercising this week.
