**and ANY and ALL "NEWBIES as well!**
The past week has been alright for me.... Stayed on track with eating and workouts. Temperatures outside "dipped" again this past week. I suppose Winter had to get in its last "Hoorah" in before Spring starts next week~
So wasn't able to get outdoors much except for appt's and trips to the store. Haven't started or tried anything new just yet, trying to figure out what things I want to do differently. Still not getting in the water requirements that I am aiming for. I just can't seem to drink as much during the winter. My skin is noticeably drier as well
......This coming week, I want to start trying "new/different" workouts. Just not sure what yet. I need to start incorporating newer or different things that will challenge and work my body out in new/different ways so there is no plateauing. I also am starting to fall into that "workout slump"
THought maybe I might break out my exercise bike (that I only used a handful of times) and start doing indoor cycling...Or perhaps breakout my LES MILLS dvds and work on some Body Pump or Body Kick (Kickboxing).... so will see.
Today is "REST DAY"! So "Yayy". Always glad to get to that day, (as well as Treat day) My son will be coming to visit this weekend as well so it will be nice to spend time with him. Hope everyone else is hanging in, having a good week, and have a nice weekend
I've been doing well in terms of attacks, but overall I'm not happy with how I'm feeling. The number of energetic hours I get is lower than what it can be, but I feel stuck in ways of improving that.
With my person trainer, we tend to be put in certain 'spots' within her gym. I think I was in the TRX area for over a month. When I first started that was something where most of it was too difficult, especially for a whole workout, even with various modifications.
This past week I was back to the free weights & bands. There's a leg exercise that I struggled with at the easiest option and was having difficult getting in the recommended number of sets and reps while maintaining a safe pacing level. For some reason on the TRX this was easier so I had hoped to see an improvement. I was disappointed to see that I was about where I had left off with the resistance band before - until I realized I was using a different band! No longer on the one with the least resistance AND the difficulty level was about where I had left off with the easy one. Pretty good improvement in that timeframe, especially considering I can't just push myself so that means slower results.
My plan for this upcoming week is no specific physical activity - may or may not make it to a rest & restore yoga class. I have too many other things going on. I'm curious to see if that will mean I do feel better overall or not. Also really hoping to sort things out with doctors as I'm frustrated with where I'm currently at. It appears I will have to do some back and forth before much will even be investigated that way. I wish we could have a model where everone would just meet all at once, but no such option like that in this system.
@AffyAvo
This is a great Check-in Affy... Thanks for sharing it with us. Its nice to see you back.
@PoliteOcean Thanks! It's nice to do a check in every now and then. It can be really easy to focus on the bad, especially when I'm not really having a good moment. It helps to think back longer term.
@AffyAvo
Absolutely... I agree... If I concentrated on the negative all the time , you all would cringe at my Check-in's
...so yes, ,its totally great to focus on some of the more positive things or even just the "little" things that we can or need to work on. I hope the things that are going well for you continue to do so :)
I've been getting into going to the gym at least once per week. Doing more yoga too ^^ Haven't been in a good place mentally though, but at least I'm going...
@mimameid
I'm sorry to hear that you haven't reached a 'good place"... and hope that you do soon. However, its a GREAT accomplishment that you are able to get out and get that gym day in at least once a week and doing something good for both your physcial as well as you emotional and mental well-being. And thats important. Keep up the great work! ![]()
Hi PoliteOcean,
I had a good week, engaging in several sessions of cardiovascular exercise (skating). I have also been striving to drink as much water as possible. I could take in less caffeinated beverages, and will be working towards that.
I have been working on breathing exercises.
Keep up the great work!
