**This past week has been yet another week that went by in the "blink of an eye"... Continuing to stay on track with eating, water, workouts and even my sleep hasn't been so bad...... I had an app't this past week as well, (that I could have potentially cancelled for various reasons), but I stayed on track and went to that as well.
**I've been continuing to "Walk" almost daily with my Mother, which is great since we live so close to each other, but rarely spend time together between our schedules... These walks have helped us to bond more recently.....So we've been walking about 3-4 mornings a week, Getting LOTS of sunlight (GREAT SUPPLY of Vitamin D! which can help with SOOOO much)
.... I'm hoping to keep it up through the Fall months as well..Continuing to walk in the evenings as well with both my husband and Mom ..... and taking my puppy to the lake a few times this week....All my classes went through and took place this past week, POUND was pretty amazing this past week with a pretty huge crowd (Full room)... so was happy about that. Just trying to stay positive that it will continue to do well. Being an "Instructor" (with whatever format), is a great way to just stay on track, and not have an excuse to "not" workout, or get in activity. And an "added" bonus is just being able to get paid for something you enjoy doing~ I just have to continue to find "BALANCE" in everything so that I don't risk "Burn-out" Like I have in the past. Which can happen real fast if not careful.
**Today is my FREE Day... Nothing really planned, No local POUND class at the warehouse...., no-where to really go this weekend, I may actually get to "sleep" in a little bit today?!... Will probably just "Chill" for a little while, and run a few small errands. (OH.. and treat myself to a little bit of "Chocolate" that I've been waiting all week for)! Everything in "moderation" right?!
**HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND~ ![]()
@PoliteOcean
Heya, Ocean! Woop- sounds like youre on a good roll at the moment with everything!
Aww, thats so nice to be able to walk and bond ❤️ and vitamin D is great! Although Autumn might start to get colder... though the scenery would be beautiful!
Woohoo! For POUND, it seems like its getting busier each week! Sounds like a certain instructor is a good and fun one... ;)
Haha thats true, we dont want to let people down if theres no class. And getting paid to do your passion- doesnt feel like work!
Ooooooh, chocolate! Tell me how it is :D moderation is key ;) sounds like its a relaxed off day for you, and I hope you get to do what you want and enjoy the week! Hope your coming week goes well too! xx
@rebecca947
aww.. thanks for your continued support!
haha...yes, I do "hope" that they think I'm a "fun" instructor! Anything to keep them coming back for more! lol....
And yeah, I told my mom that I am willing to keep up our walks at least through the Fall... Because I don't like to walk in the colder weather.. But Fall here is still really nice and warm at least through early November!...But my mom is such an "early bird" that the mornings might start to get a little cooler by the end of Sept. early October.... Hoping for the best though that we can keep it up as long as we can!
By the way, the chocolate was great, but I might have over-did it just a tad. I bought a small box of "M&M's".. for some reason that has been my "go-to" cheap box of chocolate lately... so on my treat day, I always get those. I bought two of them this time. Next week, I'm going to "try" NOT to get them at all..... and just say "NO"! LOLOL....
Things are pretty bad. Had a throat attack that I allowed to go on longer than is ideal because I didn't identify it as I was already coughing up crap, so it was hard to tell what was moreso 'normal' smoke response and what was HAE.
I have felt crappy since and on the verge of it returning.
The smoke is supposed to be better tomorrow, but it's getting worse right now (midnightish) and I think it's only clearing up slightly for a short period. I really don't know when I'll be able to really get out again.
I'm feeling trapped.
On top of that there's been some other stressful stuff going on that I can't really discuss. Still trying to support hubby with his mom's death and all the stuff that comes with that too.
@AffyAvo
Hey Affy. sorry to hear that you had another attack.. Seems like those haven't been as bad for you lately, but now that all the "smoke" has been going on, sounds like its really starting to affect you.
I remember when we had a forest fires here last year, it seemed like the smoke would never clear.... I remember how I was so afraid to go outside because I didn't want to be affected by it. I wore a mask just leaving the house and getting into my vehicle. It managed to make its way into my garage as well.... I was fortunate that it didn't end up inside our home (living space) that is...... I felt pretty isolated too, and my it got my anxiety worked up as well...
How has it been there? Is it making its way into your home as well? Or mostly outside?....... Do you have an air purifier? Hopefully for your area it will start to clear up soon....I think ours lasted at least 3 weeks or so... I know it seemed like such a long time.
I'm sure your husband and family are still in a deep place regarding your loss... I do hope that things start to look up soon. Grief/Loss can be so different for everyone involved. It can take longer for some than others... Especially when dealing with all the "after-math" of everything. Which that can take awhile as well..... Keep us informed on how everything continues to go for you all. And thank you for continuing to check in and let us know how things have been!
@PoliteOcean Unfortunately it does make it's way inside. Opening the door is the worst of it, and with my husband and I unpacking on different days (plus him repacking & unpacking again for another trip) that was lots of door opening. It gets in other ways too though, we just have window unit AC, and I think that's where some of it is coming in, not an air-tight seal around that. There are lots of other ways too, like when I opened up the dryer I got a big whiff of smoke. Many people probably wouldn't be able to smell it - my husband can't. I find I pick up on a smoke smell fast.
I do have an air purifier and I hang out with it when it's like this. I've actually been set up on the couch through most of this, as upstairs seems to be the worst, so I'm really only up there to shower and grab things that I need.
Luckily, the air quality has improved. I find the smokeyness lingers though even when the air quality numbers are good, it's from everything that it touched outside, stand away from everything and it's not as noticeable, stand next to a fence, house, etc. and the smell becomes stronger. When it's like that it still seems to be enough to be a trigger, although at least it's less so and has way less of a problem with the indoor air quality. A good rain would help wash it away, or a few days of decent air quality and it should dissipate.
I feel like it's going to be a little while before I'm back to the gym.
@PoliteOcean
Hey, Ocean! This week has been mediocre haha but today was good!
Im not sure when in the past week but we found out our dog (whos 10 and a German Shepherd) has arthritis now 😭 so we were instructed to not walk him for the week until we visit the vet again on Monday. So today we drove him to the park, and it was a busy day today! There were heaps of soccer and football games going on (but at the oval we went to, it was soccer ⚽️) and we watched the games for a while! My sister reckons it was one of the finals games (quarters or semi) because the games were all so good. Only issue is that it was so incredibly windy and cold!
Studies went fine, yesterday was a super unproductive off day though, and felt like something I really dont like was returning. But today it seems to be better, so maybe it was just yesterday. Assignments and quizzes are starting to pile on now, so its getting stressful. Not surprised if it does do a comeback.
My sleep has been all over the shop again this week, but Im hoping tomorrow I can get back on track! Hydration has been awesome, and so has the food (without consciously thinking about it lol lucky!) but exercise is still down. Maybe itll help improve my mood, if only I wasnt so lazy to get up early xD
Plans for the rest of tonight and tomorrow is to revise and get a start on one of my many assignments. And were going back to the park tomorrow to watch the females play soccer :) excited!
I hope your week goes well! xx
@rebecca947
Hey there Rebecca!...
Aww.. I'm sorry to hear about your dog!... Poor baby!.. Its so hard when they start to get up in age. I do hope that he starts to feel better. Arthritis can surely be un-predictable as to how it feels and its "flare-ups" from one day or person to the next...... Just allow him to "take it easy".. I do hope that you continue to get good reports from his Vet on his progress with it! Please keep us informed on how that goes for him!
Sounds like you had alot of fun getting out and watching all the soccer!... hahaha.... I LOVE soccer, it was always one of those sports that I liked to play back in my "younger" days. lol...
Its good for you that your studies are going fine!... But sorry to hear that you feel like your day was unproductive... I hate when then happens... Especially when I try to "plan" stuff when I have a "free" day or an "off" day... and then NONE of it gets done.
... Hopefully for you that things don't start to "pile-up"! I hope that your stressors manage to stay away for you!
Its really awesome for you that you've been on track with BOTH Hydration & Food! Way to go!
..... The Sleep and activity will come too~ We can't always be on track with everything that we'd like. And you also have school/studies to stay on top of, so I'm sure that plays a huge factor into what you are able to do and get done from day to day....... Its about finding "Balance" in everything! Which is something "I myself" am continuously striving to do lolol.... Hang in there!
I do hope that you are able to enjoy your weekend as well as get your assignments done too!.. Sounds like you have plenty to keep you busy. Enjoy watching Soccer and Have fun!! You deserve it!!
Have a great week ahead and thank you so much for continuing to check in and let us know how you are doing as well as continuing to be so supportive here in the community!
Summer is going very quickly. I guess when your enjoying the weather, time goes quickly. Have been keeping up with exercise which includes walking and swimming. Keeping pretty much on track with healthy eating. Not always easy when you visit and guests bring out cake and candy. Trying to moderate with portion control. So far have keep lost weight from spring off. Exercise has helped with this and when home very careful what I eat. Have to see how I do between Thanksgiving through Christmas this year as I gained 12 pounds last year. I think I am on the right track for healthy eating. 7 Cup support does help; Enjoy your weekend.
@sail46
Hey Sail!
Always so great to hear from you each week!.. You are so right.. summer is going by so fast.. the weather has just been so amazing warm, and sunny and good for the soul and for the "mood"!... I love Fall weather, but love my summer months even more.
Glad to hear that you are keeping up with Swimming and Walking!.. Sounds like we have so much in common when it comes to that... as well as our "weak" moments with the approaching holiday season!.. It was certainly a struggle to get off what was gained during this approaching time last year.... and I do NOT for one want to go through that again!... Its great that you have managed to work it all off and keep it off as well.. Thats the hardest part is "keeping it off" and maintaining!
I'm glad that you are "on the right track" and that you have found 7cups helpful and beneficial to your journey! Thank you so much for continuing to check in and let us know how things have been going for you! Keep up the great work!
@PoliteOcean
**How has this past week been going for you?! it has been going okay
**What things have gone "better" for you this week in comparison to last week? a lot more time to relax
**We only have one more Check-in for the month of August! What is "ONE" thing that you'd like to do or accomplish before this month ends?! more movement
**What have been your "highlights" over this past week? What are your weekend plans?! went shopping with my best friend :)
@Mellietronx
Hey Mellie! Sounds like things have gone better for you over the past week?!..
Relaxing is surely a good thing! And you have some great goals with wanting more "movement"! How have you been feeling with that? Have you been feeling any better to start exercising again? Are you on any restrictions? I do hope that you are starting to feel better!
And Shopping is always a fun thing! Even better with friends! Did you buy anything good?! If so what did you get?!
Thanks for checking in this week and letting us know how things have been going for you!
@PoliteOcean got some new clothes :)
This was the first week with kids back at school, so it was pretty hectic and tiring, but it went ok. I ate well and did my regular exercise. I got back to the pool at the Y for the first time since May. I don't go in the summer because the swim teams take over. My shoulder has been hurting since I went kayaking on vacation, but I've been able to do some things. A few mornings this week I managed to do a 15 minute morning yoga sequence that helped get the morning kinks out. Nothing much else to report this week!
**How has this past week been going for you?! It's been going better! Actually, a recent manic-episode motivated me to stay potively focused on goals and recovery. I don't like feeling manic, but I did this time because I had such a great outlook on things. And I almost went into a depression-episode you can say, yesterday. But I've been able to stop it, or hopefully delay it!
**What things have gone "better" for you this week in comparison to last week? I met my quota (minimum amount) of people to verify through the Verified Listeners Process. I'm on the VL Team. So that was exciting.
**We only have one more Check-in for the month of August! What is "ONE" thing that you'd like to do or accomplish before this month ends?! Make others feel like they're not alone through a struggle. Open the door for communication and offer space and healing for those who want it. You can't force recovery on anyone.
**What have been your "highlights" over this past week? What are your weekend plans?! Been practicing driving skills! Going for the test this Thurdsday, but my highlight is practicing!
**What things would YOU like to talk about or share with us?! WE want to hear from YOU!!
That you are a precious person. And no one can take away you from you. You don't have to give away your power to those who don't deserve it. Don't waste that. And it never hurts to spread the word of hope because it can truly change someone's day, or some, even their outlook on life. Be that helping hand.
@overtherainbow17
Hey there Rainbow!.. So nice to hear from you! (I'm a few days behind on responding as I have been out of town) But I'm always so glad to hear from everyone!!
So great to hear that things have been going better for you! And that you have been able to stay more positive about things!
Congrats on your VL role here at 7cups! Awesome job on meeting your quota!... That takes a lot of time and effort as a listener, and sounds like you are really doing a great job!
I think its really awesome of you that you want to be able to help others in the best way that you can here! There are so many here that need someone to listen and to be a great listener as well! Sounds like you will be a great one for them!
How have the driving skills been going?!! How was the test?!!!
Thank you so much for checking in here this past week, and for sharing such positivity! You sound like a simply amazing person! I look forward to continuing to get to know you better here in the community. I thank you and appreciate you so much for checking in this week and for letting us know how things have been going!! Please continue to check back!..
Today, Sun Aug 19th, I went to the grocery store for the second time in 6 years. I'm not agoraphobic, I'm a chronic pain patient. Florescent lights bother my eyes pretty severely. My eyes have been hurting a lot lately. This week, I have a massage for only the second time in 6 years, and I will see the dentist for the first time in 6 years.
@Regmo7
Thank you so much for checking in this past week!.. Its great to hear from you! Sorry that its taken me a little longer to respond this week, I have been out of town.
Sorry to hear that you are in such pain... I do hope that you find some days where you are able to manage it better?! I'm glad to hear that you were able to manage to get out even just to the store! Thats an awesome step forward! I'm also glad that you are able to get a "massage" in as well going to see the dentist!... Both are very important!... For physical and mental health as well.
Please continue to check back and please let us know how things are continuing to go for you!.. I would love to hear about any continued progress you've made in being able to get out.... or simply letting us know how things went for you when you had the chance to make it out!.. Or just to simply tell us how your week has gone... We love to hear from everyone!..
Thank you so much for checking in!
@PoliteOcean Thank you. That was very kind of you to respond. Unfortunately, I had to cancel my dentist appt because I ran out of money. I re-scheduled for September. I've got plenty of food, so no worries there.
Heya <3 I just joined this community B)

Hi there Happy! WELCOME to the Healthy Living Subcommunity! I'm Ocean and I'm the community mentor here. We are so glad to have you join us!
Its great that you are finding that you have been more productive!... Its awesome when we are able to not only "be" productive but to "feel" it as well!
How nice that you started back to school. How are things going for you? What do you like about school? What do you find challenging?
Awesome on the fruit smoothies!... What kind of smoothie do you drink? Is it something you make on your own, or something that you buy elsewhere? What is all in it?! Sounds really good!
I hope that your week is going well for you, and I really appreciate you checking in this week! Feel free to check back and let us know how things are continuing to go for you!
It's been a long time since responding, thought maybe it was time to come home again to 7cups and get involved again. It's nice to see this community still as active as ever! ![]()
This past week has been a lot for me, the summer actually has been. It's been exhausting and really stressful. I feel like with work the way it's been, it's left me little time for anything else other than work or recovery from work. This week I've got some rest time, so I'm taking full advantage of it. Knowing that, is what makes this week better than last.
I've been struggling not only with increased stress, but also weight gain or at least lack of losing any. Increase in pain, as well new pains emerging. This has been frustrating, as I don't understand where it's originating from and why it's occuring. Just taking day by day. It's tough though, because it feels like people are not really understanding the place I'm coming from and think things are all in my head. I know sometimes I get stuck in my head about things, and have not great thoughts...but these pains are not just in my head.
One thing I'd like to accomplish by months end is to feel a bit more rested and relaxed, and have taken plenty of time for self care and refreshement.
@Moj
Hey Moj! So nice to see you back!.. I was actually thinking of you not too long ago, realizing that I haven't seen you around in awhile....
Sorry to hear that things have been so stressful and exhausting for you lately. But its awesome that you found some time for yourself to "Rest and relax". We all need that time to ourselves.
I'm also sorry to hear that you have been struggling with "weight-issues".... I understand personally how frustrating that can be. Not being fully aware of your issues/pain/personal life.. I'm not aware if you are doing anything towards weight-loss (such as dietary changes or activity) or if you are unable to due to "pain" etc.... I do hope that whatever is causing your pain can be figured out, or that it can somehow be managed. Its really frustrating when we know that something is going on, and try to explain and want someone to listen, yet we feel like they aren't understanding where we are coming from or simply not "hearing" what we are saying.
I think its AWESOME that you are making goals for yourself to start taking more time for self care to help yourself feel more rested and relaxed. I honestly (in my own opinion) feel that is one of the TOP best things that we can personally do for ourselves.... When our lives are wrapped up in so many other things, thoughts, people/others etc.... it often leaves "no" time for us to just simply be in the moment with ourselves, and find some peace and solitude. We need that time for our bodies, minds and spirits. I do hope that you accompish that goal for yourself!..
It was really great hearing from you this past week, I appreciate you checking in with us and letting us know how things have been going for you!.. Please check back soon, and keep us up-to-date on how things continue to go!
