**This past week has been well for me, and somewhat busy...... I feel that I have been doing "better" in goals that I have been setting for myself, and continuing to try to keep moving forward in them. Kept up with Workouts, & Water, (as well as morning walks with my mom). I feel that the morning walks we've been taking are actually helping me to reach my goals better too. Sleep got off track again but only a bit. I know what i need to continue to do to keep on track with that and will start again in the coming week ahead.......

**Currently, I am celebrating my 21st anniversary this weekend~ So I actually hopped on here while I am away on vacation to check in with everyone! Our actual anniversary is on Monday, but we took a weekend get-away. We've been here for about 2 days in the Southern U.S. a nice tropical location. Basically just doing some sight-seeing, and pool-dipping and simply just trying to "Relax" from everything back home. Its been nice to just not have to deal with all the "usual" stuff. I've gotten a little off-track with eating, but, I know what to do to get back on track, and honestly, I'm just wanting to have a good time and not think about any of the other stuff right now. We just have to learn to be "Good to ourselves" and "enjoy and live in the great moments" when we can get them~

**Today is my usual "Rest/Free day, and I am doing just that! lol... I woke up early and did some walking, and then we headed to the pool here at the resort, and I did my usual "water areobics" that I like to do when I'm in the pool. It rained for a little bit, and we are sitting here just waiting for it to stop, and thats when I took the time to post this!.... We will probably go out and do a little local shopping, and then get something to eat somewhere.. Tomorrow we are planning to head to a nearby beach on the Gulf Coast. And Monday we will be back home, where I will prayerfully be REFRESHED and ready to get back on track, making good choices.

**This time of year is where I started "Slipping" last year, and got off track. My anniversary, then Labor weekend, then my Birthday, then the Holidays... 4 months of "Not" tracking the right way and getting off track. I plan to do MUCH better this year, as well as working towards the rest of my goals that I'd like to accomplish by the years end or early part of the new year~ ... Back to celebrating this weekend~

HOPE YOU ALL HAD A GREAT WEEK AND A GREAT WEEKEND AHEAD~ yes

Hiya, Ocean! Wow, awesome job that youve had a busy week but still managed to keep up with your health goals! Seems like maybe the busier you are, somehow the easier it is for you to manage and meet your goals? :o :p ahh, the morning walks! (Too lazy to delete the previous lines haha)

Ooh, a massive congratulations to you and your husband! Woohoooooo! If you need me to help with anything subcom related, just send me a message :) take your break! It sounds super relaxing and quite fun though where youre at and doing sightseeing and pools! Yes, perfectly correct there! Sometimes we deserve to treat ourselves and hey, it doesnt mean weve gone completely off track. We can get back on track later, but treat yourself once in a while (and this is a big milestone that deserves treats!)

Ooh, water aerobics sounds interesting! But its hard to do for me :p harder than on land!

Oh wow, seems like theres a lot of celebrations going on soon! Good luck with not slipping up this time- Im sure youll do great! Being able to learn from our mistakes is awesome.

I hope you have a lovely and enjoyable weekend away! ❤️

Hey there Rebecca!.

Thank you so much for you continued support and words of encouragement... I also REALLY appreciate you offering to "Step Up" and help out in the community! I think that is really awesome of you to do!.. heartheart You are AWESOME!

It can be so easy to get off track when we are away... with food, and just with everything! lol.... It was challenging to "want" to get back on track once I returned, but I'm back at it for now... The Labor Day Holiday is coming up in a few days here, so will see how things go! lol

I cant believe its the end of August. Its been a good summer. September is still warm for swimming and outdoor exercise. I have been on track with exercising and eating healthy over the last several months. Have to continue this into the fall, which is more of a challenge. But I think I am on the right track. I know how easy it is to slip back into eating foods I enjoy, but know I have to be careful or the lost weight will return quickly. Moderation and keeping stress in check is the key. Enjoy your holiday.smiley

I think you and I are in some ways "Healthy Living Soulmates"! lol...

I always enjoy your check-ins because we always seem to be on "similar" tracks!.... I too can't believe that the end of August is already here. This summer flew by just way too fast. I know September still offers us some great warmer weather as well. Our community pools close here this weekend on Labor Day... I'm personally hoping to get my own personal pool next summer so I don't have to worry about that anymore. I had on before (above ground type) but it was so much maintenance that I got rid of it, since I was the only one taking care of it... When do your pools close there? Or do you have your own?

I TOTALLY relate to you in your doing a great job at staying on track through the summer yet how challenging it can be once the Fall months hit. And its great that you are prepared to stay on top of it.... I;m the type that gains weight more easily when I'm not careful. And it seems like you might be as well?? Just a guess?.....But yes MODERATION (they say is "Key) lol...... Here's to the BOTH of us keeping and staying on track for the remainder of this year!

Thanks so much for checking in this week, and for letting us know how things have been going for you!

We have a solar cover on the inground pool. On sunny days and at least 70 degrees during the day the pool will stay warm well into September. I will miss the summer. Will go back to my 10,000 steps uphill for exercise when swimming is over. I will have to be extra careful with calories when I stop swimming, which I hope I will stay on track.

I got out of the house today but oh my goodness what the smoke did to me.

Yesterday and today the air quality was pretty good. Great timing as I had helped book an outdoor event. I did very little in terms of 'hosting' for today though. I did a fair bit of the easy set up for food, just moving items to a table. Others had carried it all in, I was not a part of that.

I ache all over now.

Being stuck at home with the smoke when it's also affecting me indoors isn't just being at home doing things like people normally would. I do very little movement inside the house, it's similiar to the recovery someone would have if they had the flu or something.

The smoke came back in this evening, even by the time I could get home I could smell it in the air but breathing seems to be ok, so I don't think it was too bad at the time (my app showed it was still fairly good air quality, but it only updates every hour and the reading they give online shows up about 30 min after the time listed).

A few more days of smoke, overnight is supposed to be bad again. There's rain in the forecast though. I hope that will be the end, but there really isn't a forecast more than a few days out. The smoke has spread across the entire country - the east coast is now affected. I heard something that it's having an effect across the Atlantic Ocean too.

I hope to get back into exercise classes soon. Clearly I have a significant amount of deconditioning that happened.

Hey there Affy... sorry to hear that things are still bad up there with the smoke.. I know when we had issues here with it two years ago, it seemed like it took at least 2 weeks or so to clear out completely... We didn't get any rain here either at all in that time...Its crazy that its still going on this long.

It was so challenging being stuck inside (so on that level) I can relate to how that feels. Because it bothered me, and causes allergy issues and such... I just dont' think its good for ANYONE to breathe in (Healthy or not)... but I know surely that with your Health Concerns , that its on a whole other level for you.

Is there anywhere that you could go, or visit, or even perhaps stay with for a little while until it clears out more? Just curious... ALthough I'm the type that can't stay with anyone, not even family.. I have to have my own space.. And I know Hotel costs can be expensive and add up if that is your only option.

Hopefully it will clear up and out soon for you up there..... I appreciate you continuining to check in and keep us informed on how things have been going for you. Keep us updated!

The air quality looks good for the next while. The problem with the smoke is there really isn't anywhere to go. The entire province has had horrible air quality. Saskatchewan hasn't been any better. It would have probably taken at least 15 hours of straight driving to get out of it. I've posted an image and an article with a video here that shows how big of an area is affected.

https://www.7cups.com/forum/CurrentEventsDisasterSupport_195/WildFiresSupportDisasterRecovery_1746/BCForestFiresEffectsareFarReaching_169963/

The next little while looks better and I know BC got some rain. Hopefully it won't get really bad again this year!

Heya, Ocean! :) this past week has been ok, nothing interesting happened from memory! Aside from almost missing the train on all three days of my uni! That was an adventure, and proved to me that I need to improve on my cardio so I can run up the hills faster to catch my train! xD my eating has gone pretty bad unfortunately, but Im determined to pick it back up! Water intake has been good, sleep has been decent for most days!

Next week will be a semi busy one though, have to do a few things on certain days. September is also going to be a busy month I reckon, with a uni program Im part of finally kicking in (its been 2 months since the dinner we had that introduced us to the course!) so Im excited for that to happen. Getting two mentors instead of one, which is both good and bad haha bad because Im so bad at keeping up with things xD but I guess itll be a good challenge for me!

Ive been doing quite a bit of listening on Cups this week, which Im surprised at! But its been really good :)

Overall, August has been ok to me from my memory. Had one bad week but the rest were not too bad.

For the month ahead, I definitely want to focus on self-care and possibly taking small breaks away from the site to focus and knuckle down on uni stuff. Its crunch time soon! Eek.

Yep, not much to update you all on! Hope you all have a great week ahead! ❤️

Hey there Rebecca!

Sorry to hear you almost missed the train 3 days in a row!! whoa!surprise lol....(and LOLOLOL on the cardio joke) lol..cheeky It certainly can make a difference though when you are in a hurry to get somewhere doesn't it!!??!

Great job on your water and sleep!... Sounds like you got a little off track with your eating but I think we can ALL relate here that it certainly happens, and can be one of our "toughest" parts of Healthy living!

Sounds like September will be a busy month for you?!... I hope that you are able to manage to stay on track with things. I know it seems like the "last" part of the year, is always the busiest for most people... I know for most it seems to be because of the Holiday season, but it also seems like the time of year when things go the "fastest"!

And congrats on doing more "listening" here at 7cups!... Its been a while for me since I've been able to just "sit" and do that here.. dividing my time between my leadership roles as well as "real" life outside of 7cups... I used to have some pretty cool chats and do miss doing more of that... Hopefully once things settle down I can get back to more of that..... I'm glad to hear that it all went good for you! yes

I really Like your goals that you are thinking on for the month of September.. Self Care is SOOOO very important. And I can totally understand the need to need that time away to "crack down" on other things that need to get done! I still have yet to start studying myself!..

I'm glad that things seem to be going fairly well for you! And I do hope that you are enjoying your week! Thank you so much for checking in each week and letting us know how you've been doing! heart

Hey there Mellie! Great to hear from you this week... Glad that things seem to be going well for you and that you've been doing pretty good!

I think its really great that your goals are to want to get to the gym more! Not many people can say that they want to go "more".. so that is really great that you do. And realize how important that is for yourself.

Please continue to check back and let us know how things are going with that , and for you as well!

Thanks for checking in and letting us know how things are going for you!

How have you been doing over the past week?! I've been exhausted. My mom just had hernia surgery. I was in the hospital with for three days, and then I've been doing her chores and I'm exhausted as I am fighting my own health problems.

**This is our "LAST" Check-in for the Month of August! How do you feel this month has been for you "Over-all"? this month can end soon, but give me one good night sleep and a few hours of blog writing.

**What do you feel have been your biggest accomplishments over this past month? What do you want to focus on for the New Month ahead?! I've gotten some stuff written on my blogs. Rebekah1213 on WordPress.

**We will be entering the "LAST Quarter" of this year!.. As we wind down the year, How do you feel this past year has gone for you in all of your goals for yourself or simply "over-all"? I'm planning on getting a few thing organized and hopefully a cpap machine to sleep better.

**What have been your "highlights" over this past week? What are your weekend plans?! I'm planning to get chores done. I want to write, get doctor appointments organized, and help my mom.

**What things would YOU like to talk about or share with us?! WE want to hear from YOU!! I'm really lonely. How can I make more friends when my moodiness and depression, anxiety, and ptsd get in the way?

@Rebekahwriter13

Hey there Rebekah! Its really great to hear from you! I'm sorry to hear that things have been stressful for you recently with your mom being in the hospital... It can be challenging to take on more responsibilities when so many things are going on and happening all at once.

Its really great that you have been able to manage to accomplish getting some 'Blog" time in for yourself!.... Its also great that you are making plans to try to get some more things organized and accomplished as well... Sometimes when we are able to do those things it helps us to feel better emotionally and mentally as well!

I think its great that you are working towards getting a Cpap machine. Especially if its something that you are really needing. I know those can be really important. And may also help you to get better sleep as well!

I'm sorry to hear that you are feeling lonely.... I know when we suffer from PTSD as well as Depression and Anxiety (which I myself have dealt with All three), It can be challenging to want to be around others, ... even though we may "want" the companionships and friendships, but at the same time, its tough to be around others too because of the way we feel mentally, emotionally or even physically.... Its not a great feeling... Not sure if you are taking any medications or seeing a counselor/therapist at all to help with managing feelings and emotions? But if not, perhaps its something that you might look into down the line?...

Best of luck to you on accomplishing ALL of the above for yourself... I know its a big step coming here and talking about your feelings especially if things aren't always going the best. But I really appreciate you taking the time to check in this week and letting us know how things have been going for you! Please continue to check back and keep in touch with us.

I've seen a few therapists, but with my health issues neither would figure out which was hormonal and which was problems in my head.

I was given meds but all I did was sleep with apnea, it was poor sleep.

Writing seems the best solution for me.
