**Well..this past week went ok...About the same as it has been for the most part. I'm still not doing the best at getting completely back on track with things (before Covid hit).....This week for some reason I felt like I struggled staying on track with everything. I did manage to teach All 4 of my classes, (Both Outdoor classes and both my Senior Classes).. So that went well... But outside of those classes, it seemed so challenging to get other activity in for myself. Since I'm not quite ready to go back to "taking" INDOOR classes just yet with everything going on and increasing numbers again, and my husband working late, and my mom's back has been out etc..etc.. It seems like I have to work "Extra" to motivate my own self into doing something. I honestly found myself feeling a little "Depression" this past week just struggling to find my Motivation and Structure that I had before. I just can't figure out what it exactly is thats holding me back or down....So those negative thoughts have played on my mind at times this week as well.
**Its been so Incredibly HOT this past week, that it was probably another reason I wasn't up to doing much... Even my Pool felt like "Bath-water"
.... I haven't even been able to take my dog out due to all the heat and humidity. Which was another way of keeping myself active (by keeping him active)....We did however manage to find an outdoor "covered" location to continue outdoor classes with fans, shade and social distancing still.....That was actually a "bonus" this week, but then, for some reason on that particular day we had our firsts one, not many even showed up?.... And it was the lowest attended class I've had in several years.....I also found myself once again falling into old habits of turning to food for comfort, and not making the best or healthiest of choices. So then I found I was feeling disappointed in myself again. Which made it more depressing lol...
**I know its all about getting my head back in the game (amid everything still continuing to go on around us)....and finding my 'mo-jo" and "groove" again. As we ALL can tend to fall into a "rut" every now and then.. Even trainers/instructors as well... its still a job....and we can all fall into a rut with our "jobs".. Sooo...... I guess its going to be a matter of taking myself 'Back to the Basics"! And starting Fresh again. Coming up with a plan, detailing my activity for the week, meal planning ahead etc... and finding & creating some structure in my day/time again when I'm not teaching so that I don't fall into bad habits of being 'bored' easily and turning to the wrong things.
**I have No clue what my intentions for the day ahead are (Saturday) just yet......Its going to be another scorcher today, so I guess I'm not going to even plan right now. Maybe it will be a Mental Resting day for me, perhaps some pool activity. And wherever the day goes from there.~
ENJOY THE WEEKEND~ ![]()
@PoliteOcean
Yay for all your classes ! And how good it is to hear that you were able to find a covered place for your outdoor classes, despite the low attendance (do you think it might just be that people have started leaving for holidays? Or thought it would be too hot still?)
Im sorry though to hear that youve been lacking motivation to do things for yourself and finding it hard to stay on tracks, plus feeling a little depression… I really hope you can make time to focus on yourself during the summer. This whole covid situation has made us all pretty tired Id say, and thrown pretty much everything off tracks so I guess weve all used up a lot/all of our energy and mental resources to stay positive and get back on tracks once it was possible, so were probably all quite drained which is more than understandable… I really hope you can bounce back like you always do and have a more positive week next week! Hopefully a bit less hot as its definitely understandable that the too hot weather would make it hard to do much!
Have a lovely Mental Resting Day (such a good idea!), take care! <3
@LinearWaves
Thank you so much Waves! I've said it once and I'll say it again... You always seem to know just what to say! Thank you for your positive insight. And yes I couldn't agree more with your thoughts on this whole Covid situation. Not even so much that it happened, but yes absolutely that its changed things a bit. And has taken away our usual routines and structures. And yes, trying to get back on track and keep up mentally with it all has been a little draining at times. But,.... Things always come back together in place again. Even if/when we don't know when or how. Just got to have more patience with things lol.... (Patience is certainly not my virtue) lol
Thank you again for being such a great support here! I hope you are having an awesome week.
Healthy living check-ins are always so loaded with questions, I feel overwhelmed to respond. However, today, I used the check-in questions to respond in my personal diary. Cannot answer so much on here. But, I wanna answer just the last question.
My week has been affected by severe PMS. I may have to consult a doctor now. This has been going on since long. I couldn't find any forum here that discusses this issue. Shall be glad if someone helps.
Thank you Polite Ocean for the opportunity to share.
@YogiBear10
I agree with you, a forum on PMS, spreading awareness and offering tips to take care of ourselves during these times would be a great and helpful idea! I hope you feel better soon <3
@YogiBear10
Hey there~
You don't need to respond to each and every question here.. It just gives you a jump-start to help you talk about your week. Its really about saying whatever you'd like.
We do actually have a Forum here on Female Concerns of that sort, you can locate it in the General Support section here in Healthy Living~ And feel free to express your concerns.
We thank you for checking in this week and simply letting us know whats on your mind!
@PoliteOcean
Ok, thanks Ocean <3
@PoliteOcean
**Hey Everyone~ How have you been doing this week? Pretty good!
**How have you been feeling Physically, Mentally, and Emotionally this past week? Describe ONE thing that you did for EACH to benefit yourself this past week? I have been feeling pretty good. I haven't been as physically as I should have been. Mentally have been making time for myself. Emotionally I have been spending time with positive people.
**What is ONE "Positive" thing that either you Did for yourself? Happened to you? OR.. that you did for someone else this week? How did it make you (or them) feel?! I got to see my boyfriend :)
**We are slightly past the 'mid-month point.... What are some goals or plans that you have already accomplished doing for yourself?..... What are you still hoping to or looking forward to accomplishing?! I am hoping on getting a solid workout plan figured out by next month
**What is ONE positive Thing that you can do for yourself TODAY that can benefit your "overall" wellbeing?! get some meditation in
**What have been your "Highlights" Or "Struggles" over this past week? highlights would be seeing my boyfriend...struggles would be some work stress
@Mellietronx
Good luck figuring out a workout plan! I hope that can also help lift some stress work-wise as sports can be great against stress!
@Mellietronx
Hey there Mellie! Its great to see you again!
Sounds like things have been going really well for you lately. Thats awesome. I know its challenging to get going full-swing into a workout plan with so much going on around us recently! But being able to meditate sounds like a great start! Working on your Mental Wellbeing could help with getting things together to work on your physical wellbeing more and perhaps get you going into your Workout plan that you desire! AND.. also possibly help with that work stress as well!
Thank you so much for checking in this week to let us know how you've been doing. Its great to see you.
Heya everyone ! Ive been feeling pretty tired physically and mentally for the whole week. I did go on a long run hoping it would reboot things but it wasnt a complete success (nor a complete failure though so it's not bad!). Ive also started taking iron tablets again as its very likely that I have anemia again. So hopefully it will help for the physical side! For the mental side though, I just really hope my mother will relax and be less annoying/impatient/condescending/stressed because its getting pretty tiring. I thought it was the lockdown making her this way last time I was there, but its apparently her usual self now lol Thankfully were leaving for the Alps tomorrow, all is well prepared, Ive got all the hikes planned, so she should be more relaxed *fingers crossed* I just really hope the weather will be perfect else I know shell be hard to keep busy and relaxed…
The next two weeks will be focused on taking a break in the nature, with lots of hiking to keep up with sports! Ive also finally decided that Ill be taking a break from the SHR subcom check-ins until the end of the month, hoping I can come back full force with work, 7cups and sports in August!
@LinearWaves
Hi Linear,
Looks like you really have an ambitious plan. Good luck with your expedition to the Alps, don't forget to tell us about it once you are back. Go on with the workout, a long run is great to recover one self, in more senses than just physical. Hope your health improves and you can run longer. As you say, we want to have you back in full force soon!!!
@LinearWaves
Hey there Waves!
So sorry to hear that you've still haven't been feeling quite like your self lately.. I can certainly relate to that one. Despite that feeling, I am glad to hear that you were still able to get out on your run!...I truly am hoping for you that this time away from things will help you to relax mentally and emotionally! And I'm glad to hear that you are addressing a possible problem with your iron level issues as well.... As this could also play a huge factor in the way you feel. Possibly even causing some "draining" feelings there as well?!... Hopefully this will help with that some.
And ... gosh, I do hope that perhaps this 'trip" will help with things regarding your mom! That I'm sure is certainly a tough one to deal with when it comes to your parent. But.. you also have to take care of "You" as well. Usually a good trip away can certainly help with ones feelings and outlook and perhaps put things into better perspective. Hopefully this trip will help her with whatever it is that she's got going on! I hope for YOUR over-all wellbeing that it does!
Its nice that you are deciding to take some time for yourself, and a break away from things. Even the little things sometimes can be draining. I certainly hope that you find its what you needed and that yes you are able to come back and attend to things in full force again! You certainly deserve a break and to feel good and be well-rested!... Please take care and as always thank you so much for checking in!
You may not see this right away, but I hope you are enjoying your trip to the ALPS to the FULLEST!
@PoliteOcean This past week I discovered I'm a polymath. I meet 7 of the 7 requirements. I'm self-taught in several different areas. There is more to it, but that's all I can get into here. Monday I had a therapy appointment to help me get over my toxic family. My sister Kathryn hates it when I call our family toxic. She's one of those people who make it toxic. I'm watching psychological videos on the internet every day. Wednesday I submitted blood for a blood test, which I haven't done since Dec 3rd. It's going to be several more days before I get the results. The last I heard, I had stage 3 kidney disease, so I might be better or worse, or the same. Thursday my nurse came over to check my wound. He said it's healing nicely, but it's taking a long time. I finished my course on the "Barbarian Empires of the Steppes" and started a course on the Vikings.

@Regmo7
Hi Regmo,
So you are interested in Vikings now? Yo are keeping an interest in History. Is that correct? Let us know how is it going later. Hope your therapy is going well same for your health. Go on with your Polymath skills.
@Regmo7
Hey there Regmo...
Cool on the Polymath~ I will have to look into that more and read more about it. Thats great that you were able to get into to finally tallk over your family situation. Hopefully you found that it was helpful to you... Its sad when family relationships come to that point. Since we are unable to change others, its great that we have the opportunity to fix ourselves and work on it. Continue to keep us updated on your blood testing and let us know how the results go for you. Its great for you that your wound is healing for you. I know as a Nurse that depending on the location that those can certainly take time. I had a patient that had a wound on their bottom but it was only b/c he had toxic family that didn't care for him right while he was off of nursing care. It took forever for it to heal since its in the worst place. How great for you that you were able to finish your course. Sounds like its been a really productive week for you. Thanks so much for checking in and letting us know how things are going.
This week has been difficult. Still dealing with heightened anxiety. It was mostly calm until tonight. I decided to shave my legs as a way to take care of myself. I'm now deeply anxious. First it was just horrible to shave after months of growth, took a long time. And, showering / shaving sparks my anxiety sometimes because of germs, visible grime in the tub from other people & me.
For mental care, I've been catching up on my internship. I've also been tweaking my Fall schedule and planning to learn effectively for some of my courses that'll be online. Emotionally, I've been listening to my body when it's time to sleep. Tonight I'm not sure I can do that. I just keep thinking about germs and about how literally everything is crawling with them, even the bed I'm on and the computer I'm typing with. I've already got hand sanitizer and I might start wearing gloves to help me emotionally too.
I'm still hoping to find moderation and stick to a daily schedule of some sort so I have 'practice' before the semester.
@Lexloveslife
Hi Lexloveslife,
You take care of yourself and that's good despite there's anxiety at some points. You keep on coming and telling us how you overcome the negativity time after time. Learning effectively sound like a very good plan, carry on with the internship and achieve your goals. I am sure you will find your pace and will be ready to start scheduled activities as soon as you need it.
Thanks for sharing.
@Lexloveslife
Hey there Lex..
Sorry to hear that you've still been dealing with anxiety.. Anxiety can be a tricky little thing.... I know for the most part sometimes it can stay with us and linger, even when things are going good. And it sucks when it comes back full-force for whatever reasons. Sometimes the reasons can be so small and minute, (but, to us or those that suffer, its can seem like a mega-crisis at the time).
Its good that you at least tried to soothe yourself even if it didn't help to the fullest. But... you were able to take the time to try to help yourself with a coping skill of some sort , so thats a really positive thing! Good for you. I hope that you are able to continue to do that for yourself when needed.
And its awesome that you are taking the time to prep and get yourself ready for schooling again. Hopefully focusing on that, can help continue to steer your negative thoughts away in a different and better direction! And I hope for you that you are able to come up with coping skills that can continue to be beneficial to you during this time. I know it can be a challenge. But we are here for you.
Thank you for being able to come here and talk to us, and share your week with us to continue to let us know how you are doing.
