(And ANY and ALL "NEWBIES"!)
Its been a decent week for me... Anxiety levels were "lower" so thats always a good thing.......Started off with a weekend trip to South Carolina which was very nice!.... The week seemed to go by pretty fast. I stayed on track with eating, (although it would be nice to find new "Dinner" options) so, I will start to look into that. Don't think I got in all the water I should have, and my sleep has been Waaaayyyy Off than usual. I've been up later than I like to be, but can't seem to get off the computer at night
I stayed on plan with my workouts, Did more ZUMBA this past week, and only One day of Walking...( I normally Zumba 2 days, and walk 3 days and Swim in between)... but.. I added an extra ZUMBA and Also a POUND FITNESS Class. I am totally loving Pound Fitness and finding it to be a "new" fitness passion. (Even though ZUMBA will always be my "FITNESS-SOULMATE"
..... But I'm contemplating getting Certified/Licensed to be a Pound Instructor.... Will see how my "funds" look to do that soon! lol....
And last, today is REST DAY.... Yayy!...I always look forward to that... Hope everyone else has been doing well this week!
@PoliteOcean I had to look up Pound Fitness - That looks sooo COOL! None near me, but that looks great and fun!
@DragonFaerie
Dragon its SOOO Much fun!.. Typically I'm a "dance" person, which is why I fell in love with ZUMBA.. but...theres something about POUND too that is such a different format.
I have to engage myself in things that I find "Fun" and not average or typical, its the only thing that keeps me motivated is by finding something I don't consider a "workout" but really is! I burned almost 600 calories doing this Friday evening for 55 minutes. I hope that one day you can experience it for yourself, even try a good Youtube Video as well. I put a simple beginner one in our "Exercise of the Day" thread here in the community :)
Well I did my runs on Sunday, Monday, Wed, Thur and today (Saturday) added up to over 23 miles
I ate mostly veggies, fruits, some nuts, legumes, bread, rice, and some sweet potaties.
I did a few deep breathing and meditation exercise to keep me calm at certain circumstances.
@PoliteOcean I have been doing pretty good health wise. Actually, I haven't been sleeping the best :(
@Mellietronx
Thats good that health-wise that everything is well Melli!.... But I totally understand what you mean about the "sleep"..... I've gotta work on that one myself. I hope that you are able to get some good rest soon as well! Thank you for checking in this week and letting us know how you've been doing! ![]()
On one hand, I've been overeating because exams and stress and projects. My weight is plateauing/slowly gaining, which is scary. I ate almost ~3,000 calories today alone. *gulp* On the other hand, I have a new best running time: 24 minutes and 57 seconds. I'm finally in the sub-25 minutes for a 5K run. Yay :D
@JLantern
Sorry to hear you've had the added stress of exams and such..... I remember those days quite well....
And don't feel too bad about not having such a great eating day. It happens to all of us at one time or another. We can't eat perfectly "all" the time. But thats great news on your "running time"!... And the fact that you are an avid runner will surely keep "help" a great deal with keeping you in shape and in good health!...So..you've got this JL! Keep up the great work you've been doing and put that 3000 calorie day behind you and keep moving on and forward! You can do it!... Thank you so much for checking in this week! Keep up the great work.
I made it my workout this past week. The intensity was backed off a ton and I got through with way less coughing than expected.
My parents were here for a few days. I probably could have used a bit of extra time, I went from workout, taking care of the garden to finding out they had already left to come here - they never gave me a date/time to expect them. I never got my post-workout nap as I was preparing the room for them. Spent the next day with them and my sister's family - beach in the morning. I kept drifting off on the couch while with everyone later in the day as my fatigue levels were high as I didn't get in 12 hours of sleep after working out.
I did have a good time with everyone, sometimes I just wish I could be a bit more present.
Today is the first day with no houseguests and I plan on it being a lazy day. I might get outside a bit in the garden. Otherwise I plan on being a bit of a couch potato as my body just feels fatigued.
I hope this week I can get back to my typical intensity when it comes to working out, I'll have to see if I'm up to it by then.
@AffyAvo
So good to hear that you've been able to get in your workouts!....
Even though unexpected, its always nice to spend time with family as well. The Beach sounds like a great time. Do you live near the beach? Or did you have to travel out some? I hope that you enjoyed your time with them~ Also, I hope that you were able to catch up on all the rest that you needed....
I felt the same yesterday I just crashed.... feel like my body is still playing "catch-up" today. I thought about taking a "rest WEEK" this week!... I might just go with the flow of the week as far as workouts. Sometimes we just have to.~~...... We know what our bodies can do and what they need. Its great that you sound like you have been pretty much on track as you are able to be. Good for you! Thanks so much for checking in this week and letting us know how you've been doing!
@PoliteOcean We live in a community with a private man-made lake. There are certainly nicer beaches (although not in the city), but it's nice to have it so close and non-crowded on weekdays. They also do a few events, like the Luau. Most of the stuff is pretty kid focused as there are so many kids here.
Last week was pretty good. I upped my step goal to 11,000 a day and missed it only twice! I ate better and started getting a lot more water in during the day. I got back to treating myself first thing in the morning, after the furbabies are fed, to a couple of cups of coffee out on the patio - to just wake up, enjoy Nature and wrap my head around what the day's goals are. I also started waking up earlier and knocking out all of my daily chores and the dishes before leaving for my first job.
I'm still not sleeping as well, and I had a couple of nights of more drinks then I would like, but my eating is getting back on track. I have 12 more days on my run of 35 days of working every day, so I can almost see a light at the end of the tunnel.
My hubby is going out of town to a conference that will hopefully land him a new contract, and I'm trying to pick JUST ONE project to work on that I can have done before he gets back.
